Work Text:
Going by the view, it's roughly at:
1415 Rue St-Hubert, on the corner of Rue Sainte-Catherine E.

By night: 👇

By day 👆
On the map. 👆
That is:
In the vicinity of the Hyatt Place Hotel in Downtown Montreal.
(R-L) Looking southwest to:
- Mount Royal/Parc du Mont-Royal (the mountain after which Montreal was named; with the famous cross),
- the former Saint-Jacques Cathedral,
- the Balmoral Block (red-splashed building),
- La Tour KGMP and La Tour McGill (the two pyramid-topped skyscrapers in the middle),
- the Complexe Desjardins (the green pair of buildings),
- the Hydro-Québec Building (the one with the Q),
- and the art deco 1000 de La Gauchetière (viewed side on).

Most of the skyline will be lit up in bleu blanc et rouge for the Habs during playoffs!
This puts Shane about:
- 7 minutes drive south of The Village (viz. the gaybourhood)
- 7 minutes drive north of Chinatown
- 8 minutes from McGill University (David could've attended Metros home games while he was there!)
- 11 minutes from Bell Center (where the Habs play), and:
- 20 minutes from CN Sports Complex, across the river in Brossard (where they practise).
You can see the church in this drone footage:
So by day Shane would be able to see Mount Royal Park off to the right.
And if he turned left on his balcony (facing southeast), he'd be able to see the St Lawrence river, the Champlain Bridge (which is lit up in rainbow colours for Pride 😭), and possibly also the giant Molson Brewery building (that family are the people who own the Habs.)
