Work Text:
Barbrey and Palla regarded each other, corpse lying at their feet between them.
“It’s not,” Barbrey said carefully. “That I don’t appreciate your fatal skill. But what are we going to do with the body?”
Palla shrugged, unconcerned. “Burn it. Or scatter it in pieces.”
“I ought to have known you’d have ideas. Fine. But no-one can see us.”
“Of course not. Fear not, my lady,” here Palla smiled her vicious smile. “I know how to be subtle.”
Barbrey smiled a little at that. Not because it wasn’t true, but because it was. Palla could be subtle, when she chose to be. She simply rarely made that choice. She had an excellent skill for viciousness, either way.
The body was not so hard to dispose of, in the end.
