At one in the morning, the world had become wonderfully quiet. The room was dark except for the faint glow of the digital clock and the occasional sweep of headlights across the curtains. Reo glanced at the time before looking at Nagi, who had somehow managed to occupy an impressive amount of the mattress despite barely moving.
“You said you'd sleep at midnight.”
Nagi opened one eye.
“I changed my mind.”
“You don't get to change your mind after keeping me awake.”
“Sure I do.”
Reo gave him an unimpressed look. Nagi responded by lifting the blanket.
“Come here.”
“What?”
“I'm cold.”
“You have a blanket.”
“Blankets aren't you.”
Reo paused.
For a second, he simply stared at Nagi.
Then he shook his head. “You're weird.”
He climbed closer anyway.
Nagi immediately settled against him, resting his head on Reo's shoulder and loosely wrapping an arm around his waist. Reo adjusted the blanket around them and started absentmindedly running his fingers through Nagi's hair.
Nagi relaxed almost instantly.
“Keep doing that.”
“You're very demanding.”
“Mhm.”
Reo smiled.
He didn't notice the tiny smile on Nagi's face as he closed his eyes.
