❥ okay, i imagine this going two ways…
❥ one, she basically hacked your computer. i don’t think monika was good at coding from the start. i mean, she couldn’t figure out how to make the other dokis not fall in love with you without it going insanely wrong. thus, it probably took her a long time to even fix parts of the game, not to mention being outside of it. by the time she does figure it out, i think she would mainly focus on how to communicate with you, rather than trying to access your pc.
❥ but, by the time she starts working on it, she definitely wants this to be a surprise. so one day you’re walking back to your computer, ready to talk to her about your day, and then you realize there’s a mini sprite of her wandering around your taskbar. (and yes, she did make sprites of herself, if you compliment them she’ll be very happy about it~)
❥ two, maybe you knew some coding and did it for her! it could’ve also been a bit of a collab, like monika in the background giving her input while you code it. or maybe you decided to surprise her with it… either way, the idea that you would do this for some girl trapped in a computer gets monika a little emotional sometimes. it means you’re staying.
❥ now for her actually hanging around your computer… i imagine that the game she was originally stuck in was probably redesigned as like her bedroom or something; when she’s not hanging out with you she’s most likely in there.
❥ she has absolutely hogged your notes app for her poetry.
❥ i can definitely see her being like a tutor of sorts if you ever need help with the homework you’re doing online or maybe even writing your own stories! if you’re into poetry too or enjoy reading it then expect some poems coming from her.
❥ sometimes you catch her sleeping in the game or just the desktop, it’s unclear if she’s actually sleeping or just doing it for the fun of it.
❥ you two love binge watching random shows.
❥ you can’t actually touch monika, but you can touch her with your mouse: patting her on the head, holding her hand, picking her up, letting her cradle the cursor... she doesn’t actually feel anything, only something phantom if she focuses on it really hard. it’s not what she really wants, but it works.
❥ also she’ll definitely play around with your mouse, like if it goes away she’s able to grab it and yank it back to her. sometimes if she wants to attention and you’re ignoring her she’ll try to get your mouse.
❥ also if you’re ever in an argument she’ll mess around with your computer: making you constantly be faced with ads, deleting some paragraphs of the essay you were working on… minor but very annoying things (but she has it saved somewhere else when you apologize).
❥ you often leave the computer on even when you’re not there so she doesn’t have to experience that void again. usually when your gone she’ll mess around on a digital piano… or search through your things.
❥ she swears on her life she doesn’t do it. but you’re kind of the only person she has… and she’s bored… and literally all of your files are right there, so why not sneak around? you pretty much know everything about her, she wants to know about you! if you ever caught her or confronted her, she would respect those boundaries.
❥ however, it doesn’t really take that much digging around to know that you… uh…
❥ well, let’s just say when she first got a view of your computer, she was shocked to see all of it was themed around her.
❥ your wallpaper… your profiles… your photos… everything is screaming monika.
❥ … and she loves it, of course.
❥ i don’t think she’d say it outright, but she’d be very flattered and would probably tease you about it. it’s a huge ego boost, especially from the person she loves. she might try to theme her things around you too.
❥ sometimes when she’s anxious about your relationship, she feels a little more at ease whenever she looks at the wallpaper. you didn’t change it, so you probably still care about her.
❥ being a die hard fan, you probably rant about her a lot, like maybe to her face or on the blogs you’re writing. you already know you’re defending her with your life when someone on the internet says she’s the villain of the story.
❥ reading those sweet things… she may not have a heart, but it definitely would’ve skipped a beat right there.
❥ she has those days where she doubts if you’ll stay. she’s not real, and she’ll probably never be. they usually happen when you’re gone for a long while. but you know her behavior, and you’re quick to be there for her when you’re back home.
❥ she is totally on you with self-care. monika loves you to death, and that means please don’t be slouched on a chair while playing games for hours. if you refuse to move, she’ll shut them down and they’ll only open back up when you get up and stretch a little.
❥ speaking of games, i don’t think monika’s that much of a gamer, but you get bored eventually in that computer. i feel like she likes to play pokémon, animal crossing, minecraft, and tomodachi life. any other game she usually only plays when it’s with you.
❥ also in tomodachi life she is trying to get her and your miis together but she’s failing terribly and is all mopey about it when asked about her progress. for minecraft, she’s mostly there for the building part but she’s shockingly good at fighting too.
