Work Text:
Oz opens the door to his makeshift loft, slightly dragging his feet as he limps over to the nearby coat rack. He slips off his jacket, hanging it up. As he moves to take off his shoes, his ears perk up at a sudden yell of aggravation- "Jesus fuck, how hard is it to grill a damn steak? I can taste the charcoal from here!" He stands back up straight, softly shaking his head as makes his way to the source of the noise.
As he makes his way to the bedroom, the tension in his shoulders slowly starts to relieve itself. Oz gently cracks open the door to peek in, the sight of what's inside bringing a light smile to his face.
There she was, fitted in nothing but a Dollywood hoodie and a worn pair of suit pants that definitely weren't her size. Rosalynn had clearly made herself comfortable, propped up on a dozen pillows against the headboard as she sat with a slumped posture, stuffing her face with some salted crackers she found while rummaging through their cabinets. Across from her was the tv mounted on the wall, Oz tilts his head towards it as he suddenly understands the reason for her frustration. 'I'll never understand why she likes this show so much, all it does is drive her up a wall', he chuckles as he hears the unmistakable voice of Gordon Ramsey really giving it to a restaurant owner with their head shoved up their ass. Rosalynn's always been rather fond of Kitchen Nightmares, something about wishing she could call out her bosses the same way Ramsay calls out the cooks, to each their own Oz supposes.
Deciding to stop lurking, he rubs at his face and makes his way in. Spotting movement in the corner of her eye, Rosalynn swings her head to him, relaxing at just seeing his face. "Jeez Birdie, way to sneak up on a girl, what are you doing home so soon anyway?"
Oz neglects to respond to her, instead walking up and plopping down on the bed right next to her. Casually kicking off his shoes, he moves up closer to her, practically scooping her up into his arms as he laid back on his side onto the perfectly placed pillows. Rosalynn gently sits up on her elbow, smiling down at him as she moves to brush her fingers through his hair. "One of those days then, huh. That's alright, I gotcha." She reluctantly pried herself from his hold, savoring the soothing cold that radiated off him, and moved further down the bed. Softly caressing his thigh, she takes hold of his right leg, gradually moving her way down while gently massaging any tense areas. Making her way to his leg brace, she carefully removes it and the sock under it, revealing the deformed foot. Focusing her attentions there, she applies the proper pressure, firmly yet gently relieving the tissue tension and soothing the joints. "You should really let me do this more often, you know", she suggested. "What, and let you get me all prim and pampered? That's supposed to be my job, Doll.", Oz remarked with a smirk on his face, a faint look of surprise quickly brushing through his face as Rosalynn finished her work and placed a soft kiss to his ankle.
"Whoever said it can't be both?", she countered as she crawled back up to him, "Is it really so bad if I just wanna coddle you for a bit? Indulge me here, would ya." Grabbing the remote, she switched over to what they were watching last night, The Great British Bake Off. She tosses the remote off somewhere to be found later and snuggles back up to her absolute unit of a partner. "I really do like taking care of you, so just let me do it. It's good for both of us, babes", she spoke softly, cupping his cheek and dropping a kiss to his nose, placing an even longer one to his lips. His face takes on a redder tint as he sighs to himself and glances to her with a fond look, "Alright alright, quid pro quo then, yeah? I scratch your back, you scratch mine, Ms. Dreamurr." Rosalynn let out a giggle at the sudden use of formality, "You have yourself a deal, Mr. Cobb~", she relented with a wink, holding out a pinky.
Oz let out a deep laugh at her antics, raising his pinky finger to intertwine with hers, "Now enough business talk, I'm beat and ready to hit the hay with my sweetheart." He brings her closer, her face tucked comfortably in his soft chest. "Ain't gotta tell me twice." Rosalynn gently raised a leg over him, all but clinging to him like a sloth on a branch. "And tomorrow, I'll get up and cook us something those uppity frauds couldn't dream of making", she swore with a faint yawn, her fight with sleep quickly becoming a losing battle.
Placing a hand on her head, petting the soft fluff that laid there, he closed his eyes with a smile and brushed his lips against her forehead. "I know you will Doll, I know you will..."
