Summary
Daemon Targaryen had been coming to Vermithor’s Rest for as long as Aelora could remember.
When she was younger, he was just Daemon. The older prince who teased her, let her follow him around, and always seemed to turn up again no matter how long he was gone.
Now Aelora is twenty-two, rider of Vermithor, and very much not a little girl anymore.
Which makes things complicated.
Especially when her father has started receiving offers for her hand, her brothers are watching Daemon far too closely, and Daemon himself seems to be spending more and more time at Vermithor’s Rest.
Then Aelora finds out he’s already asked her father for permission to marry her.
More than once.
Her father keeps saying no.
Daemon keeps asking.
And somewhere between tournaments, dragons, arguments, jealousy, family drama and far too many feelings neither of them want to admit to, Aelora starts to realise that maybe Daemon hasn’t been coming back to Vermithor’s Rest all these years just because he likes the place.
