Summary
Ryan learnt to live in silence. And when he was done with silence, pain always took its place.
His parents rarely acknowledged him. He wasn’t an exceptional kid, never won anything, wasn’t the most athletic kid, no talents, no ambitions. Nothing. They never bothered with another kid after him either. Their silence was subtle, muffling, more a pinprick than anything.
Hunter’s silence was different. They rarely talked. Even up till the moment they started… hanging out? If he could even call it that. In the quiet of the classroom, the hallway, his backyard, Hunter’s silence bore into him like a blunt knife.
In other words: a little bit of Ryan POV & what happens after they run away together. Some conversations are had, some amends are made. They were always destined for a happy ending, even if their beginning wasn't.
