Work Text:
A karaoke party. Great.
That's TOTALLY the best way to celebrate the fact that the entire crew is still alive and healthy, right? Yeah. Totally.
Purple sighs. They don't really like parties. They do like singing, though. That might make it all a little better.
After Red and Purple crash landed on Earth and everyone got reincarnated as humans, the crew decided to successfully sue MIRA. Congratulations on the good ending, everyone! Now Cyan had the idea to throw a karaoke party at White's insanely big house. Everyone is coming, so it would've been really stupid if Purple would be the only one to cancel. So they didn't. Purple's just not a big party animal. They prefer to be alone. Or at least, just not in a very crowded room with drunk people all around you. But for tonight...they will just give it a shot. I mean, it's their own crew. They're all nice, so it'll be fun.
Purple puts on their shoes, tightens their ponytail once more and walks out the door. They open their car and start the engine.
'Okay...first, Yellow,' they talk to themselves. As one of the few who can actually drive a car, Purple promised to pick up a few of their friends, as White does the rest.
After picking up Yellow, who brought some delicious snacks with them, they drive to Cyan's house.
'Oh you guys, I'm SO excited for this party! I just feel the vibes being so good today!' Cyan squeals in the backseat.
'Hey, Cyan, do you know where Black lives?' Purple asks.
'Uh, yeah, I do! Why?'
'Well, since I assumed you would, I didn't ask Black for their adress since it'd just spare me a few minutes so...mind telling me?' Purple explains with a smile.
Yellow shakes their head and chuckles. 'Wow, you're THAT lazy?'
Cyan leads Purple to Blacks street, and Purple immediately notices Blacks house. Probably because of the black painted roof and door and all the stuff in the garden. Or because Black is standing in front of the house.
After that, they pick up Orange and drive to White's house, where everyone already is.
As the five enter the building, they greet their friends and have a quick chat as Brown and Yellow prepare the drinks and the snacks.
Then Red climbs on top of the table and clears their throat. 'Ahem, may I have your attention please? Thank you. I know I'm not captain anymore, but I'd still like to say something. I know a lot has happened in the past few months, and in all honesty, there were many times where I'd think about just simply giving up, just signing that NDA again and go back to how everything was. But I didn't do that. Because I knew there was going to be a way to solve all of this, to get rid of MIRA forever and just live a normal life again. I knew there was a way to get you all back and do this together. And I'm happy that I knew, because look at us now! We sued the idiots, we're finally done with all of this! We did it, guys! To freedom!' Red shouts as they raise their glass, and everyone does the same, chanting 'to freedom'.
Cyan runs towards the big boombox and turns it on, connecting it to their phone.
'Okay guys! Let's start singing! Who wants to go first? Or are we battling?'
'Hm...we can just sing a few songs now and hold a battle later on?' Green suggests. The others nod in agreement.
'Okay, let's do that! I can go first, if nobody else wants to!' Cyan says excitedly.
'Sure, you can go first. Did you pick a song already?' White asks.
'Yeah, I did. I don't need the lyrics, I know this one fully!' Cyan assures them, walking over to what White and Brown turned into a small stage. They take a position, grabbing the microphone and starts singing.
During the many songs that are being sung, glasses are being refilled, because c'mon, it's a party! There's no party without a little bit of alcohol.
But the more songs there are sung, the more glasses are being refilled. Slowly everyone starts to feel a little dizzy.
But everyone just ignores it, because nobody wants to ruin this awesome party! Or they ignore it because they just don't notice.
Probably the latter.
Everybody is now gathered on the lounge set in White's living room, in front of the stage.
Cyan, presenting themselves as the host of the karaoke battle, clears their throat and explains the rules.
'Okay, so I'll pick one person each time, and they get to choose who they want to battle against. It can be one person, or two, or three, or four or five or six or seven-'
'DID YOU JUST SAY SI-' Red interrupts them, before Purple clasping a hand over their mouth to prevent them from finishing their sentence. Red sinks back into the sofa, pouting.
'No worries Red! I feel your vibes are good today. I wouldnt've minded if you finished that sentence!' Cyan says cheerfully, receiving a proud smile from Red, who sticks their tongue out to Purple.
Suddenly, Lime jumps up from the sofa, walks up to Cyan and grabs the microphone from their hand, leaving them dumbfounded.
'Enough with all the chitter-chatter and rules. Who needs rules anymore! We're free! And wasting our time. Now put that damn music on!' Lime shouts into the microphone WAY too loud, causing everyone to cover their ears.
'Yeah, Lime, now before you start singing, you should know that it'd be nicer if you held the mic a little more far from-' White says, walking up to Lime, but Lime doesn't listen, grabbing Cyans phone, and putting on a song.
Everybody freezes for a second. Lime...is going to SING???
Well here you have the proof that everybodys drunk as fuck because wtf why is LIME doing karaoke.
As Lime starts singing, everybody unfreezes and starts feeling the vibe. Yeah, it's REALLY weird that LIME is joining their karaoke battle. But it's also REALLY fucking funny and in all honesty, Lime ain't even that bad of a singer!
'Yeah, Paradise by the Dashboard Light really sounds like something Lime would sing,' White says to Brown, who nods in agreement. 'Yep. Definitely.'
'Yo Brown! Mind comin' over here for a second! Gotta do another refill, huh!' Yellow shouts from the kitchen, as Brown stands up, accidentally almost falling backwards, before stabilizing themselves and rushing over to Yellow.
Purple stands up from the lounge set and walks towards the bathroom, not really wanting to see Lime sing obviously drunk as hell.
Green, White, Cyan, Orange, Black and Blue are still at the lounge set, cheering Lime on, who doesn't even seem to notice it because they're so focused on the song.
'Hm, I wonder who's going to battle Lime! It's a duo song after all!' Green says to White.
'Yeah true...or they're gonna sing both parts? I mean...look at them, I wonder if they even know we are all watching them!' White says, laughing, putting their arms around Green and Cyan, who put their arms over the other people standing next to them, creating a line of uhhh idk people holding eachother.
idk how tf to explain that tbh but you get the idea!
Lime's solo part is over, and everyone's looking around for someone to pop up and sing the other part. It doesn't really seem like it, before Blue suddenly stands up, taking the second mic still laying on the table and starts singing (holy shit this sounds SO corny).
Everybody starts cheering for them, as Lime looks genuinely happy that Blue's the one to battle against them.
Meanwhile, Brown and Yellow have already refilled Red's glass for about three times, as they're at the kitchen bar chatting with eachother. Well, chatting...you can't really understand what Red even says anymore, because their words come out really slurred.
Yellow grabs Brown by the wrist and takes them into the corner of the kitchen, as Red kept talking to nobody in particular.
'Okay, we should probably stop refillin' Red for now, right?' Yellow whispers.
'Hm, I've seen people more drunk...but they are kind of a lightweight I guess. This is how I saw them at glass 2 already,' Brown responds, snickering.
'Yeah, let's just refill with apple juice and act like it's beer or something,' Yellow says, turning back around to Red, who has already left and went back to Lime and Blue's incredible Got Talent-act.
Purple opens the bathroom door, hoping that Lime's done singing, but nope. Damn it, they forgot that stupid song is like 9 minutes long or something. NINE MINUTES!! How do you even come up with that?!
Purple walks over to the kitchen bar. 'Hey, can y'all refill me? Also, why is Blue singing now too?'
Yellow grabs Purple's glass and refills it with beer. 'I don't know. Everybody's drunk I guess. Especially Red. I don't know what happened there, honestly.'
Purple looks over to Red at the lounge set, while sipping from their glass. 'Might as well join in. I don't really see a problem with being hungover tomorrow, 'cause it gives me a good excuse to not take out the trash or talk to anyone in general.'
Brown and Yellow laugh.
Purple stays with them for the most of the night, getting their glass refilled every now and then, making also them lose track of how much they've actually drunk already.
Not like Brown and Yellow are any better. But they just know how to control themselves even when they're drunk, apparently. Purple themselves has a bit of a harder time. Not like loud music is helping if you're drunk.
Purple stands up. 'I'mma just uhhh....go for ah...a walk! A walk! Yes, goodbye!' they wave at Brown and Yellow as if it's the last time they'll ever see them.
Nobody seems to notice Purple leaving, they're all still too busy with singing.
Luckily White's house is a fuckass mansion, so atleast Purple has enough hallways to walk through.
Their headache keeps getting worse, even though there's no loud music in their ears anymore. But the vibrations go through the entire house.
'I'll just go back,' Purple mumbles to themselves. They take the other way to let it take just a little more time. This means they're walking past the kitchen, and thus also walking past the storage room.
Without thinking, Purple opens the door and feels the breeze hitting them.
'Oh my goooooood...' they exclaim, stepping further inside. Brown and Yellow won't really like it, but fuck that, this ain't even their house.
It's not as cold as in a freezer, but the built-in water sprays release a cold breeze which makes Purple stay. Just a few minutes will do, nothing's wrong, right?
Well basically Purple, you are SO drunk that you didn't even see the OTHER door at the other side of the storage room. Y'know, if you open that, you'll end up next to Brown and Yellow again. Might as well not do that.
Meanwhile, as everybody casually keeps drinking and singing, Red gets up from the lounge set, going to the bathroom.
God, they might've had a few too many glasses...maybe. Their head hurts. Whatever, they'd just take some painkillers. They just noticed they haven't seen Purple for a while. How can their best friend/ex-coworker/OBVIOUS situationship hide from this party??! Red will find them, and tell them to come back and sing a song.
Skipping the bathroom but checking for any locked doors, they open a random door in the next hallway.
Immediately all sorts of stuff fall out; tools, games, clothes and alot of dust. Oops. Red squishes everything back in and stumbles over to other doors. But they are all locked.
After walking around for about 20 minutes, Red finds themselves in a hallway with a door back to the living room.
Just when they want to enter and join the party again, their eye falls onto a door on their right. The storage room! There's a small flash of light coming from the bottom.
Red looks over their shoulder to see if anyone's looking, before slowly opening the door.
Inside the storage room is Purple, leaned back against one of the walls, almost jumping out of their skin from fear.
'HOOUGHH!! What the fuck, Red! You scared the hell outta me!' Purple shouts, placing their hands on their knees.
Red closes the door behind them, almost tripping whilst walking up to Purple.
'Hmmm, nice wind here...where's the window at?' Red slurs, waving their hands.
Oh God. Purple forgot about Red being so insanely drunk. And yeah, they know they're drunk too, but not as much as Red.
'Okay, Red, we should, uhh, go like, back!' Purple says, trying to grab Reds wrist and pull them along, but Red instead grabs Purples shoulders and shoves them back against the wall.
'Noooo, Purps, we shouldn't. It's so nice and cold here, we should stay!!' Red exclaims, face getting closer to Purples. They look into eachothers eyes, as Red has to try their hardest to not collapse onto the ground.
Their breath smells of alcohol REALLY strong, and Purple wants to shove them out of the door, but the alcohol must've gotten into their brain, because Purple keeps standing still, feeling their cheeks heat up, biting their lip.
The small part of Purple's brain still working screams for Purple not to do it, but there's just no defending against this, the way Red stares into their eyes, one hand against the wall and one hand on Purple's shoulder.
'Uuuhhh...uh...how many glasses did you have, Red...' Purple asks slurring.
'6 or 7...SIX SEVEN!!' Red shouts, letting go off of Purple for a brief moment before recollecting themselves. 'Aaaand you, Purps!! Yeah, you had ALOOOOT!!!'
'Mhmm...maybe...5...but you should stop drinking so much, Red, you're going....tooootally insane!!'
Red gets even closer to Purple. 'Puuuurps...don't be so boring!! Just have some fun!'
'I'm having fun!' Purple protests. 'I just dont want-' But they get cut off by Red pressing their lips onto Purples.
Purple's eyes widen for a moment, but then lets it all happen, throwing their arms around Reds neck, deepening the kiss.
Red presses their body tight against Purples, ("and our bodies were oh so, close and tight" limes BEEN singing the right song) as Purple parts their lips, allowing Red to enter.
Their tongues intertwining, Purple lets out a whimper, making Red even more eager. They interlock their fingers with Purple, as they other hand goes from the wall to Purple's cheek to their neck and then to their shirt.
Purple gasps as they feel Reds hand starting to undo the top buttons. Purple KNOWS whats happening, but they let it happen. I mean, it feels really fucking good...and it's the alcohols fault, not Purples.
Purples hands graze through Reds short hair, as their tongues keep dancing around eachother.
Red pulls Purple even closer, feeling their body heating up from all the touching. Even Red can't resist it anymore, letting out a moan as they continue to make out.
Suddenly the door opens.
'There you guys are! We-'
Immediately the two stop making out and face Yellow, whose jaw drops lower than my follower count on TikTok.
'I- Uhhhh....did something happen?' Purple asks with a fake smile dusting off their clothes, pretending like NOTHING happened.
'Yeah whatever man,' Yellow mumbles, walking away to spill the tea to Brown.
A rather awkward silence follows. It's like as if the alcohol immediately stopped working on them.
'Soooo...maybe we should...' Purple starts, nodding towards the open door.
'Uh, yeah! Good plan.' Red chuckles nervously, before Purple quickly grabs their wrist. 'What happened in storage, STAYS in storage.'
Red nods, and they walk back to the living room, expecting everyone to look at them, but no, everyone's laying on the sofa, sleeping, or too tired to say something.
Except Yellow and Brown.
'Brown, you DON'T know what I just saw,' Yellow whispers, taking Brown by the shoulder.
'What?' Brown asks curiously.
'Red and Purple. Making out. And PASSIONATELY, too, damn.'
Browns eyes lighten up. 'REALLY? No way.'
'I'm serious! I don't lie about that type stuff, you know me!'
'Mhm...' Brown looks over to Red and Purple, who joined the cuddle pile.
If THEY made out before me and Yellow did, something definitely went wrong, Brown thinks. But then, after all, it was probably the alcohol.
'We should start cleaning up,' Yellow says, snapping Brown back into reality.
'What? Oh, yeah. We should.'
They grab their stuff, starting to clean up.
Whilst on the cuddle pile, Red and Purple snuggle up against eachother, knowing damn well they're both awake. They just can't help it. And they also know DAMN well that the time of 'ex-coworker' or 'best friend' is no longer.
