Matt Sucks (Edd)

Summary:

(Based on the Eddisode of "Matt Sucks") Matt is turned into a vampire and is very adamant about drinking Edd's blood, not Tom's. But when he's finally able to drink Edd's blood, one thing leads to another, and its not just about the blood anymore.

Notes:

A/N: I know almost next to nothing about vampires. Shot out to my friend who loves Twilight and gave me some advice on it.

Work Text:

Dinner and a movie first is what Edd said. But when he took Edd to dinner and leaned over to bite his neck, he was still not receptive to letting Matt drink his blood. Did Edd not realise how incredible rude he was being? It was one thing to make him wait for his own meal. But it was another thing to eat his own solid food in front of him and then not go through with his promise. As they both made their way back home, Matt continued to sulk as his hunger worsened.

He stops at the threshold of the door, somehow feeling uncertain about entering even if it was his house too. Edd leans down to pat Ringo, fussing over her and calling her pet names. When Matt scoffs, he finally draws Edd's attention.

"Why are you just standing there, Matt?" Edd asks, picking up Ringo. He stands up and moves to the side, making space for him. "Come inside, would you? You've been acting very strange tonight."

"Since you insist I come inside," Matt mutters, folding his arms.

Edd sighs as he closes the door behind him. Matt sure was in a mood. "Where'd you get that cloak? You know what I said about you bringing home random objects."

"So what if I did?" Matt argues, clutching his black cloak. "I think it makes me look distinguished."

"You think everything makes you look distinguished, Matt," Edd remarks and crosses into the kitchen. "And why didn't you touch your dinner?"

"I was trying to have my dinner and you would not let me," Matt frowns, trying to not sound so upset over it.

"What do you mean? There was food for the both of us," Edd squints, before shuffling through the fridge for a can of cola. "Of course I would want you to have something."

"You want me to have dinner?" Matt clarifies, creeping closer. "You're inviting me to have dinner?"

"I mean yes? I invited you to dinner. I said dinner and a movie first…" Edd muses and then nearly drops his can of cola. "Does that mean that I asked you on a date?"

Edd quickly stands, confused by his own question. Had it actually been a date? But then he feels himself practically fall against Matt in the midst of his ungraceful motion, and it would have been a simple misunderstanding if Matt currently was not baring his teeth suspiciously close to his neck.

Edd feels his skin grow warm. "Uh, Matt, what are you doing?"

"I'm having dinner," Matt mutters, more focused on the curve of Edd's neck. "You invited me inside and then you invited me to dinner. You're my dinner."

"What?" Edd turns and much to Matt's displeasure, stops him from feeding on his blood. "Your dinner? Is this some kind of thing of yours—oh no you're a vampire."

"Wasn't that obvious?" Matt gives him a blank look, then reaches for him again. "Now come here, I'm hungry."

"No, you don't just get to suck my blood or eat me," Edd argues and creates some distance between the two of them.

"But, Edd," Matt complains, looking pained as if Edd had rejected him. "You invited me inside."

"Well, maybe I did," Edd squints again, determining what exactly he agreed to. Not to be his dinner, though. "But that's because you live here, not because I want you to drink my blood."

"I don't care," Matt continues to complain, bringing a hand through his ginger hair. "I'm hungry."

"Okay, I get it," Edd frowns back. He slowly inches back towards the fridge, careful not to make the same mistake of turning away from Matt or exposing his neck to him again. He shuffles through the fridge again, hoping to find some kind of red meat that contained any leftover blood. "I'll find you something with blood in it so that you don't think about putting those incisors at my neck again."

"It's not worth even searching for," Matt folds his arms. "We all know that you already went through all the bacon and any kind of meat."

"Shut up, Matt," he responds, before cursing under his breath when there was no meat, because he had, in fact, been the one to consume the last of it.

"See? No meat," Matt concludes, sounding proud of himself. "Now let me sink my teeth into your neck, Edd."

"No," Edd feels his face grow warm. "Go and sink your teeth into Tom's neck."

"I don't want to sink my teeth into Tom's neck," Matt whines. "He's probably so drunk that I'll get tipsy if I have any of his."

"The answer is still no, Matt."

"God, you're just so difficult," Matt throws his hands into the air and then stalks across the room, to what he thought was the couch to sulk on. He walks into a mirror instead. Dazed, he steps back and rubs his head.

"Matt," Edd warns with concern, vampire or not. "That's the mirror."

"The mirror?" Matt repeats, looking between Edd and what was now clearly a mirror. He presses his hands against it and stares in horror, realising he could no longer see his beautiful face. "I can't see myself? I can't see myself? Oh my god, I can't see myself? Edd, I can't see my face? It's gone, Edd! It's all gone! Oh my god!"

Edd watches him quickly break down over his vanity. Sure, Matt had an excessive interest in his face and now also contributed some vampiric qualities to the mix, but Edd could not help but feel bad as his friend began to sob over his inability to see himself in the mirror. Because that was apparently the worst thing about being a vampire.

"Okay, Matt," Edd says softly, taking him by the elbow. "Come on."

"My life is over, Edd."

"I'm sure it's not, you're probably immortal now."

"I can't see my face."

"I know you can't see your face."

"Everything is ruined."

"Everything is not ruined, Matt."

"It's the end of the world."

Their exchange continues, until Matt is somehow laying against Edd's lap, continuously crying, somehow making his eyes redder than they were before. Edd brings a hesitant hand to the side of his face. Surely, he was too inconsolable to consider biting him right now.

"How about I describe your face for you?" Edd suggests.

Matt stops struggling for a moment. "You'd do that for me? I mean—maybe that could help. But it's nowhere near as good as seeing my face with my own reflection."

"I know," Edd answers, trying to be kind. But of course Matt's vanity was ever present. "Okay. Where do I start? You have ginger hair. Maybe auburn. You style it the same way every morning and have a very long routine for it. Your eyes are rather kind, even if they're somehow red right now, because you often find something to be happy about. You have a prominent smile."

"Are you saying I have smile lines?" Matt cuts him off and his eyes narrow.

"No," Edd gives him an unimpressed look and continues. "I'm just saying that you have a noticeable smile… because I notice it?"

"Well," Matt mutters, feeling strangely flattered, before trying to act tough. "What do you think of it now? Since you're so vocal about your aversion to vampires."

"Matt, you were trying to drink my blood," Edd gives him another unimpressed look, then frowns. "But I don't have an aversion against vampires—not against you. I'll prove it."

"Yeah?" Matt tries to sound unconvinced. "Prove it then."

"Fine," Edd accepts, then shifts his hand. "Your skin is more pale than usual, but you've always been pale from the English weather—and you've certainly never liked the sun. Maybe you were always a vampire."

"That's not funny, Edd," Matt tries to hide his smile.

"Okay, okay, fine," Edd smiles back. "And I think your ears are pretty cool." Edd shifts his hand and grazes the pointier part of his left ear. "They're all pointy."

"You do?" Matt asks, wiping away the last of his tears.

"Yeah," Edd confirms.

"Who knew you could be so helpful?" Matt slightly shifts.

"I am helpful," Edd presses a hand to his chest.

"And who knew I could like you so much?" Matt asks.

"Well, I am likeable—"

Matt quickly pushes him down on the couch. "Let me drink your blood."

"No, Matt," Edd starts, wanting to lecture him, but then his back is against the couch and Matt is on top of him and taking up the entirety of his view. "Matt…"

"I'm hungry, Edd," Matt scowls, pressing a sharp finger at Edd's pulse point. "And no, I'm not drinking from Tom. I don't want Tom."

"Then grab someone off the street!" Edd mutters out, dumbfounded by how stupid he sounded. His face grows warm again when Matt continues to stare down at him with an intensely fixed gaze. It was clear that Matt's mind was made up. He was either going to drink his blood or starve. Edd sighs, knowing he couldn't bring himself to say no again.

"Make it quick," Edd mutters, making sure to fix Matt with a hard scowl as he slowly shifted his hoodie to a certain angle, exposing more skin and neck for him.

"Don't—don't say it like that," Matt remarks, but any argument inside of him dies when he's finally able to lean down and press his face against Edd's neck.

At last, he sinks his fangs down into Edd's neck and ruthlessly drinks from his blood. He grasps the other side of Edd's face, his other hand supporting Edd's shoulders, all to angle him for a better drink of blood. He continues to suck and bites down harder, when he hears a small gasp escape from Edd. He nearly removes his hold on Edd from the sound of it.

"Did I hurt you?" Matt mumbles, most of it coming out incoherent.

"Uh…" Edd mutters, almost unable to string the words together. "No… not really. Just don't kill me, okay?"

"Yeah, well, I'd rather not," Matt agrees, then focuses on Edd's neck again. He releases his hold on Edd, before biting down on another area, not giving him time to recover. His face screws up in confusion when Edd's hand grasps the nape of his neck, pressing him harder into his neck.

"Edd… what—" Matt tries to mumble out again.

"You know what?" Edd presses his spare hand between Matt's shoulder blades. "I've decided that the dinner and a movie was in fact a date… and that this is the stuff that happens after the date."

"The stuff that happens after the date?" Matt repeats, releasing his teeth from Edd's neck. The blood could wait. Edd was acknowledging something between them that he thought would go unacknowledged. "Sure, I can do the stuff that happens after a date. Hell, I would be even better than you at it."

"Yeah?" Edd's eyes narrow. "You're only better than me at it because of your sudden vampirism. Your thirst for blood and all that."

"Shut up."

"You shut up."

"Yeah, I'll make you shut up."

"I'd like to see you try—"

Matt feels himself being pressed down to the couch this time. Edd was now the one crawling over him, pinning him down. He stares up at Edd, starstruck for a moment. Then, he clears his throat when he sees the multiple bite marks that he had left. Obviously, a vampire had fed on him.

"Nice bite marks you've got there, Edd."

Edd gives him an unimpressed look, before drawing his ridiculous cloak to the side and biting down on his shoulder in a hard and unceremonious manner.

"Fuck, Edd!" Matt's the one to gasp out this time.

"You're so desperate," Edd taunts him, bringing his mouth close to his ear.

Matt scowls, but takes Edd into his arms nonetheless. Warring with his pride, he decides to give in. "Okay, fine, I'm desperate, whatever. I've had enough blood. Would you please kiss me?"

"And you've suddenly got manners," Edd remarks.

"Edd!"

"Fine!"

Matt feels some relief when Edd finally presses his mouth against his own. He brings Edd closer, threading fingers in his hair and a few fingers against his pulse point. Not because he wanted to feel his blood flow again, but because he wondered if his heart would race with him near. Edd softens as he sees Matt's eyes settle into something like relief. Maybe it had never been about the blood in the first place. He was very adamant about wanting him and not Tom. They had shared glances before, and when they thought the other was not watching, long looks. But apparently it took Matt to get bitten by a vampire for their accumulated feelings to go anywhere.

Matt breaks the kiss, but quickly makes up for it by kissing at the bite marks that he had left. "I'm sorry, did these hurt? I hope they did not hurt. I can make up for them—"

His voice is cut off by Tom's bedroom door opening.

"Hey how was the movie—" Tom enters the room and then nearly drops his flask. "What—oh, get a room you two."

Edd and Matt stumble over each other, both victims of forgetting that their other roommate was actually home.

Edd stands and fixes his green hoodie, hoping to hide the exact lovebites that Matt had created and kissed. "Tom! Tom, Matt's a vampire—and he was just drinking from me because he was hungry."

"Sure, Edd," Tom takes a sip of his flask, sounding unconvinced and bored.

"He was only on top of me for a better angle," Matt tries to reason.

"Sure, Matt," Tom gives the same response.

"Well, isn't it just so late," Matt continues, then fake-stretches. "I'm going to bed. Goodnight to my fellow roommates."

Tom smirks at the last word, then raises his flask to Edd. "You know I never thought I'd see a vampire go to bed at night. I thought they were allergic to the sun. Cheers, though, Edd."

"Really, Tom?" Edd drags a hand down his face.

The next morning, Matt stalks through the living room, clutching a blanket over his head, wary of the sun. To his relief, Tom was still in bed and Edd had been kind enough to lower all the blinds. Not a lick of sun could get through. So he makes his way into the kitchen, grabs a can of cola and slowly approaches Edd who was sitting on the couch with Ringo on his lap.

"Matt, what are you doing up?" Edd asks, but pats the couch cushion beside him.

Matt sits down, slumping into the couch. "I don't know. I couldn't sleep. Thinking too much."

"Yeah, I figured," Edd sighs, but gives him a small smile.

"I got you a can of cola," Matt offers it to him. "I'm sorry about last night."

"Don't be," Edd shakes his head, but accepts the cola. He takes a sip of it. "We can figure it all out later."

"Okay," Matt nods and begins to stand. A hand on his arm stops him. "Enjoy the cola—"

"Don't go," Edd tells him, offering him the can. "I've got a feeling that for once I won't be able to finish this can of cola. Mind helping me with it?"

"I can help with that," Matt smiles, sitting back down.
