   Summary

prince daeron is a light in the world that ser gwayne has to squint his eyes against, so unaccustomed is he to seeing it. it is a light he vows he will not let gutter out.

and daeron is jaded to the gifts and courtesies afforded to him by his rank, but true kindness is something he has no natural defence for. when he first feels its warmth, his fingers curl into a tighter grasp on it than he knows how to undo.
