Chapter Text
Hawks memory was a mess. The incident that caused him to be sitting in an alleyway covered in trash and substances he would rather not know. He immediately got up and two things became apparent. Hawks wings were gone? They felt there but they weren't actually there it was a word sensation and immediately caused panic to rise. If he wasn't trained so well by the commission he would have let the panic take his mind thankfully though he's more composed.
The other thing he quickly noticed is he was shorter ?
“What the hell” Hawks muttered to himself he felt lighter as well but that was probably due to the nonexistent wings he had either way something was very off. Hawks checked himself for injuries and didn't find any. The only thing he had to be moderately concerned about is how he most likely has a mind concussion either way compared to many of the possible extremes and other injuries he's gotten in the past that was pretty great. His clothes weren't too damaged either and he could feel that his back was injured but he wasn't sure. he only had some blood from scrapes so he wasn't to worried easy enough to pass off .
‘ Okay what was the last thing that happened…’ Hawks thought observing his scenery as he started exiting the alley way. He racked his brains but the only thing that popped up was Dabi's bluefire before waking up here. ‘Great signs’ Hawk though who wouldn't love their last memory being a maniac's fire before waking up in who knows where?
This was bad, he couldn't remember everything and what he did was fuzzy and the place he currently was at seemed familiar enough yet different. “ Potential amnesia?” Hawks muttered to himself self.
Think what would the commission do?
Hawks knew there were drills for this they were forced into every possible crevice in his mind but he had a hard time recalling that and something in his gut told him he shouldn't listen to the commission…or it's drills. As Hawk looked around he saw something unnerving and froze. Monsters, many eyes, many teeth, absolutely disgusting and it was slithering around. Hawks felt a revolting feeling eat at his body and something told him that if he let's the being know he know it than he wouldn't be here, his hero side told him to fight it that it was harmful and needed to be purged. Hawks didn't acknowledge it and instead averted his eyes and kept walking pretending he didn't see anything ; that it wasn't there.
Don't put yourself in unnecessary danger. Every move a hero should make, every move you will make will be calculated. Avoid collateral damage but if you don't know a good portion of the situation, if we don't give you the say don't react.
Hawks walked around, wandered more so he silently hoped to be able to recognize where he was but he didn't. The blond man also noticed that there seemed to be little to no people with quirks. He didn't see any heteromorphs and that caused slight discomfort. Hawks had heard of towns that would discriminate against those with hetero morph quirks and would quite literally push them out as much as possible. Hawks hoped that wasn't the case since his quirk was bird-like.
As he walked he kept his wings spread just as a… test and not a word. In fact people walked through them, quite literally and Hawks had to hold his horror. Was there potential someone had a quirk that was able to erase his quirk and he just had phantom wings? Like Eraser head but more extreme ? It would make sense his senses were sharp but not nearly as sharp as he was used to. After Hawk came to terms with that current set back he decided to focus on his location.
“ Excuse me ?” Hawks said politely and respectfully as he approached some man. “ Could you perhaps tell me my location, I was wondering with some friends and got separated,” Hawks added with an easy smile. The guy nodded and said “ You're in Tokyo” . For an average lost citizen this was horrible guidance and a horrible answer however for Hawks it was extremely helpful. One outta many questions pop up: How the heck is he in Tokyo ? Sure his memory is messed up but he knows darn well he was NOT in Tokyo. Did he fly here? Unlikely but possible, this was all disorienting. Another thing occurred to Hawks as he walked away from the man, Hawks wasn't recognized. The number two hero wasn't recognized. EXTREMELY ODD.
In fact this entire time he wasn't recognized or swarmed by fans or paparazzi. Something really fishy was happening here; there's no way he wouldn't be spotted in Tokyo of all places.
Another thought occurred to hawks, “ What if I'm in the past ?” Time travel quirks weren't common but they weren't impossible. In fact the more Hawks looked around the more he noticed clear signs of being in the past which era? No clue but in the past nonetheless,
No quirks (or visible ones) were a dead give away, the lack of media on heros. Ads about idols who have died way too many years ago to be having billboards about them. The more he looked the more subtle clues he noticed. Hawks must be really disoriented if he didn't notice such simple detail. If the commission knew they would have his head. As he walked he noticed a bill board with the date and tried hard to hide his minor horror. He was at least a hundred years into the past. What shocked him even more is minus the lack of quirks it looked pretty much the same. He knew humanity tech evolution slowed due to quirks but he didn't realize just how much.
Hawks wasn't sure what to do and quickly checked his pocket to see if his wallet was there, it was but the corners were marked with ashes. Hawks grimaced slightly ‘Just what exactly happened ?’ Hawks opened the wallet and immediately went through his cash checking each yen. The more he went through each yen the more he realized just how unfortunate his current situation was. All this hard earned money for nothing and his debit cards were useless.
Hawks groaned he's gone right back to being broke and this time the commission wasn't gonna “ save” him. Hawks chuckled to himself, hopefully this quirks effect had a time limit if not he was royally screwed. He went to grab his phone from his other pocket and flinched when he touched it, there was a faint heat lingering on it and part of the metal was partially melted. What the fuck had happened with Dabi for Hawks phone and wallet to be partially melted or burnt. Hawks checked to see if the phone worked…. It didn't. The hero sighed.
‘This is gonna be a long day, isn't it ?’ Hawks thought
