Chapter Text
Leia runs around her room excitedly holding her model sized tie fighter away from her pretending to fly it. She wears a child size replica of an imperial fighter pilot uniform.
“Pew pew! Pew pew!” Leia screams “take that rebel scum!”
She throws the model X-wing she was holding in her other hand onto the ground.
“Princess Leia saves the day!” She screams spinning around in circles.
Suddenly she hears someone clear their throat by the door and turns to look at them.
“Lady Vader…” Piett begins
“Daddy says I’m a princess!” Leia interrupts with a frown.
“My mistake.” The man apologizes with a smirk. “My Princess, Lord Vader has requested your presence.”
Leia smiles widely before grabbing a black cape from her bed and pulling it over her head. “Let’s go!” she calls running out the door and skipping through halls of the spaceship cape fluttering behind her.
Piett goes into his best speed walk to keep pace with the energetic little girl. Stormtroopers make sure to clear the path as soon as they see the little girl coming. Nobody is sure what would happen if the little lady accidently got injured by running into one of them, but nobody wants to find out. The mere thought of trying to explain that to Lord Vader sends a chill down their spines.
Leia makes her way to the proper door and bounces on her feet excitedly as she waits for Mr. Piett to type in his code.
“Daddy!” she screams as soon as the door opens running over and leaping into his arms. Vader makes sure to catch her in a way that she won’t be hurt on his armor. She wraps her little arms as much as she can around him. Piett smiles before quietly making his exit.
“I was just about to meditate in my chamber would you like to join me?” Vader ask already knowing the answer.
“Yes!” she excitedly replies. She didn’t really enjoy meditating, but her father was always so busy, and when they meditated together she got to sit in Daddy’s lap and have some one on one time, so it quickly became her favorite part of the day.
The pair climbs into the chamber and Leia waits until she hears the special air begin to pump then looks up at her father. She watches as her father takes off his helmet.
She reaches out and brushes her hand against his cheek “Daddy is so pretty!” she declares.
Vader presses his lips to the top of her head giving his daughter a kiss. “You’re so sweet princess. You’ll never know how much I love you.” He says.
“This much?” she asks spreading her arms as far apart as she can.
“a lot more than that.”
“Wow! That is a lot! I love you too Daddy.” She says causing her father to smile wildly. Silently he thanks the force for allowing him to have such an angel despite everything he has done. He knows he doesn't deserve anything as precious as his little princess.
