“Kageyama-kun.”
It all began with a simple prank, Teruki just wants to see how Shigeo would react to a certain thing. He’s seen people try it, and it was a harmless prank— so it should be okay.
“What would you do if I cheated on you?”
They are three months into dating, and they’re happy with their relationship. Teruki is living the dream for these three months, after endless pining he finally worked up the courage to confess to Shigeo.
Teruki’s heart went soaring to the sky when Shigeo said he felt the same way. (They literally floated up into the sky with cherry blossoms flying around them, if that’s not some shoujo manga-esque crap then Teruki doesn’t know what is.)
And today, Teruki makes a grave mistake.
“A.. Are you..?” Shigeo looks like he’s on the verge of tears as he looks up at Teruki with a kicked puppy expression, and Teruki wants to bury himself six feet deep then carve ‘died as a disgraceful scum of earth’ on his own gravestone.
He doesn’t even think he deserves a gravestone, to be honest.
Meanwhile, behind the bushes several meters away from the bench Shigeo and Teruki is sitting on— a gun gleams as the sunray hits its’ gorgeous metal body. Kageyama Ritsu laid on his stomach as he scopes through the snipe gun, aiming right on the back of Teruki’s head.
Beside him, Reigen looks through the binoculars. The signs are showing red, and if Shigeo does start crying.
Reigen is almost afraid Ritsu will raise Hell.
“This is Spoon-Boy, target confirmed. Ready to take a shot.” Ritsu’s voice echoes through their earpiece as clear as a bell.
Dimple is in his meat-suit, somewhere on top of a building with Shou. They somehow got Shou roped into this too for some ungodly reason, and he doesn’t want to be here. He just wants to spend more time with Ritsu, they agreed on a date today.
Turns out it is not a date and Shou learns how to phrase his word around Ritsu, because apparently “Hey Ritsu, let’s go hang out tomorrow and get ice cream together just the two of us, yeah?” is not enough for Ritsu to get the hint that Shou is asking him on a date.
Maybe next time.
“Wait, Spoon-Boy. Hold your fire,” says Dimple as he looks through his own pair of binoculars.
“Tch, what is it, Greenfart?” Ritsu does hold his fire, but he’s not pleased.
“Hakata Salt, can you confirm Shigeo’s face won’t be caught in the crossfire?” Dimple zooms in closer, it wouldn’t be pleasant if Ritsu slipped up and shot Shigeo instead.
“Confirming that,” Reigen’s sure Shigeo is out of the line of fire. “Affirmative, we have a direct shot to take the target out.”
“Roger,” Dimple nods at Shou. Shou nods back, if Teruki does run away they are the Plan B tag team.
“This is Fireboy. We’re on stand-by.” Shou crouches down the edge of the building, ready to jump down.
Ritsu holds his breath, the key is to not be too stiff but steady enough to shoot without wavering. His nii-san is as oblivious as usual, probably because at the question (that goddamn bastard) Teruki threw at him that probably broke his heart.
Teruki clutches his chest with a hand and pulls Shigeo closer with another, he holds Shigeo close and tight. He regrets everything he has done that lead up to this moment, he shouldn’t have done that.
“NO, I WOULD NEVER DO THAT PLEASE DON’T CRY KAGEYAMA-KUN! I’M SORRY, IT WAS A JOKE I JUST WANTED TO SEE HOW YOU’D REACT!” Teruki pleads for forgiveness as he hugs Shigeo like his life depends on it.
“Ah, Hanazawa-kun, you’re yelling in my ear…” Shigeo reaches out a hand to pat Teruki’s back, he hugs Teruki close too. He nods, pressing his cheek into Teruki’s shoulder.
“It’s okay, Hanazawa-kun.” Because Shigeo is our very forgiving ESPer boy, so pure and kindhearted. Ritsu is disappointed that he misses his chance but at least Shigeo is happier if Teruki is alive.
“Dang,” mutters Ritsu as he leans away from his scope. As much as he loves his nii-san, those two are so lovesick it makes him nauseous just seeing them being all lovey-dovey like that. Ugh, gross.
“Hey, at least we know Mob is on the right hands.” Reigen claps him on the shoulder for a job well done, he confides in Teruki to give Shigeo the right treatment and if he does this kind of shit one more time Reigen wouldn’t hesitate to call the #ShigeoProtectionSquad back because when that time comes— they will really finish this off.
And so, they left Teruki and Shigeo alone to their business.
Shou still doesn’t get his date. So his day is kinda sucky in his opinion. He wishes Ritsu would just get a clue, but considering how his brother is..
Yeah. They’re so oblivious. You can’t beat around the bushes with them.
“I’m home.”
“Welcome home, nii-san. How was your day?”
“It was very great, Hanazawa-kun and I went on a date today.”
“Oh, that’s nice.”
“Also, Ritsu, have you seen any middle-schooler going around with a very big gun today at the park?”
“No, me and Shou are playing in the arcade all day so we didn’t notice.”
“Oh, okay, just be careful. If you see anyone with a gun just run away and get to safety, okay? The people at the park talked about it, they said the boy had spiky hair and was going around with an adult. Weird.”
“Yeah, that’s weird, nii-san.”
“You have spiky hair, Ritsu.”
“…Y, Your point?”
“Maybe you should cut it or slick it back… People would think that it’s you, Ritsu.”
“I’m sure they won’t, I’ll just wear a hat if I go out next time until this blows over.”
Ritsu and Shigeo gets called down for dinner by their mother. They exchange a small before making a small conversation as they made their way downstairs to eat, Shigeo asks how his day went with Shou and Ritsu gave a vague answer most of the time. He isn’t very creative with details.
“Oh, and Ritsu.”
“Yes, nii-san?”
“Why is there a toy gun in your room..?”
“It.. It just looks, um, cool. Do you like it nii-san?”
“Eeeh.. Guns aren’t my thing, though.”
“Shigeo, Ritsu, eat your food before it gets cold!”
