Egg had been openly excited about the idea of sleeping in a real bed again when Dunk had said they’d stay in an inn for the night, but when they arrived the inn had but one room available, with one bed.
Dunk had considered making Egg sleep on the floor. He should have, really. It’s what Ser Arlan would have done. But he was too soft for that. Egg was small enough not to take up much room, anyway. Not like Dunk, who hung off the end of the bed uncomfortably unless he curled into a ball.
Egg burrowed deep into the blankets beside him. It was a cold night, so maybe he had made the right call, for the warmth of another body did make a difference. It was cramped, but not too bad.
