That was the worst part. Because if Naim hadn't said anything to Hunter's dad, then the stranger with the lighter never would've been called into town. He probably would've gone on to torment somebody else instead, which left Ryan with a vague sense of guilt in the pit of his stomach, but at least it wouldn't have been them.
Was that so awful to want? Was it selfish for Ryan to wish he lived in a world without this, where he could come to understand the feeling of rightness that sank into his bones when Naim cradled his head and kissed him for the first time?
