What? Peter Parker has trauma? I don't know what you're talking about.

Summary:

Peter was tired, and cold, and wet, and wow his friends apartment is right there, if only he could be invited in.

Or, Peter has small moments of reminiscing the past, and then has a panic attack induced by spider senses being annoying. MJ and Ned are here for the ride :)

Notes:

GUYS TWO DAYS IBTO WRITING THIS FIC AND THE AO3 CURSE HAS HIT

A tree fell into my house (not creating holes where you can see tree) but a LOT of leaking

So either much fic will be write, or none for a bit

Yay!

First ever fic so don't expect the greatest writing ever, just something for me to do for fun!

Was supposed to be a completed one-shot.... But then I wanted to post some already

At least like 5 chapters? Hopefully with more words each chapter? Idk we'll see as we go along!

Also this came out of my Spider-Man hyperfixation so enjoy :)

Chapter 1: Window Watching

Chapter Text

The rain was pouring down, leaving littles dots on Peter’s back, soaking through his suit. Cold winds of the winter to come struck through the fabric ingraining itself in its seams. Winter wasn’t a great time for him, between the inability to regulate his warmth, the general displeasure at having to wring out your suit after patrolling in the snow, and the memories of winters before with MJ and Ned and M-
He wouldn’t think about that. Not today. One thing at a time.

What a way to end off a patrol, soaked, freezing, and knowing your landlord wasn’t going to fix the water heater whether or not you paid the rent on time. Maybe he could go to Yelana’s office to warm up? Nope. It would be too far away from his apartment and she’d probably start talking about potatoes again. Maybe he could try heating water on the stove? That’d raise the electricity bill that was already high. He let his mind wander as he tried to ignore the growing cold nipping at his suit, trying to sink itself into his bones.

It wasn’t much longer until he landed on a rooftop to think things out, ideas bouncing around his head on what he may do. More blankets? Invest in a better heater? Heated blanket? A moment passed by when he caught a glimpse of someone looking at him through their window… speaking of which they kind of looked like Ned? Kind of hard to tell in the growing darkness but they had the same hair and jacket.

“Oh my gosh” He said to absolutely no one, he’d subconsciously swung to Ned and MJ’s apartment.

Logistically, his senses were making a good choice, there’d be warmth, food, not to mention safety in an actual apartment without asbestos. But his mind was telling him he needed to walk away, that he wouldn’t want to force his problems of thermoregulation and hatred of winter onto them.

All these thoughts and those of keeping them safe almost allowed him to leave, but he just couldn’t stop wishing he could be there, with his friends, talking about M.I.T. and how they had such a great time, how they handle their new found freedom of adulthood and Spider-Man.

“Go to them” said on voice
“Leave them in safety” said another
“Spider-Man!” yelled a thi- no, he recognized that voice.

Peter focused in on where the voice was and realized Ned had been waving at him for the past minute, attempting to garner his attention. Having been so absorbed in his own thoughts Peter hadn’t even realized he was staring straight through their window. To make matters worse, MJ had been watching from their couch and walked over to the window to give a concerned look and motioned him to come over.

Unable to leave without making the situation more awkward than it already was, he quickly swung to their window trying to be quiet, as to not upset their neighbors.
