Work Text:
Being an ambulatory wheelchair user, Mac could walk, just not for very long amounts of times. As an object, whenever they tried to walk, their legs would eventually just give out without warning, on occasion, mostly painlessly.
However, being a human was… different.
Whenever Mac tried to stand up for the first time, their legs had this painful sensation, they felt dizzy, like they were walking on a tightrope, carefully balancing themselves with every step. Their legs grew tired rapidly, and they couldn’t keep up with the painful sensation that came with it.
It took a while for Mac to get used to the actual pain, still occasionally getting up to grab something, and being it with a jolt of discomfort.
Getting up to grab something, Mac once again forgot about their pains, wincing as they felt their legs wobble beneath them.
“𝘿𝙖𝙢𝙣 𝙞𝙩…”
Mac mumbled under their breath, holding onto the nearby desk for support (despite being human, They still internally apologized to Dasha, if though she wouldn’t mind.) Mac tried to maneuver their body to get back into the wheelchair while still using their arms for support. However, this proved unsuccessful when their legs gave out and they fell on the floor, lying down awkwardly while groaning. Roni Squeaked in concern as they scurried over to check on Mac
Naturally, you had woken up from the noise of your partner falling, and it was only about 5:30am (Mac was quite the workaholic, as much as you tried to stop them.)
“𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙛𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣, 𝙙𝙞𝙙𝙣’𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪?”
Mac whimpered pathetically a small yes, wincing at the pain
“𝙄𝙢 𝙨𝙤𝙧𝙧𝙮… 𝙄 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙡 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙢𝙮 𝙨𝙮𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙢𝙨 𝙗𝙪𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣—“
You covered their mouth with your finger, helping them back up into their wheelchair
“𝙄 𝙩𝙤𝙡𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙣𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙖𝙥𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙞𝙯𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙢𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙝𝙪𝙢𝙖𝙣, 𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙖𝙭 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙥 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙤𝙣𝙘𝙚.”
Mac didn’t object, letting you wheel them away into the living room
