"I wanted to rule out the possibility that the victim is dead - whether by accident or foul play - and confirming the impossibility of dream death seemed like the easiest way to go about it." Ratio looked unimpressed, so Aventurine kept talking, changing the topic. "Something else I have discovered while investigating this case is that the charmony dove population, an endangered species native to Penacony, has declined significantly."
"And you're operating on the assumption that there is a connection between the missing person and the missing birds?" Ratio asked.
"Not necessarily. I'm just noticing patterns."
In which: Sunday just wants the best for his sister, Aventurine tries to figure out what is going on in dream-reality, and Ratio keeps getting stuck between Sunday and Aventurine.
