“Ok”, it was Jamal who spoke up first. “Ok”, the older echoed just a beat later. There was another moment of silence. “I’m not gay.” He felt the need to clarify. The younger didn’t respond, so he turned his body towards him, leaning on his forearm. “I’m being for real”, he reiterated. The other turns his head, his eyes saying something that was impossible to decipher in the moment. “Ok, I believe you, chill”, he just says, dragging his words. “Say you swear you won’t tell.” The German boy rolls his eyes, looking back at the ceiling. “Who do you think I am?”, he huffs out, making Michael sigh.
