John jogged through the snowy park with a smile on his face. He and Alexander had been busy lately, but they’d finally been able to plan a day to meet up.
They’d chosen the park as their meeting place, since it was actually a pretty nice today, if not a bit cold and slippery.
The man watched as a huge snowflake drifted by. He watched its whole descent, until it joined the others on the ground. And when he looked back up, he saw Alexander standing just a few feet away, by the deck that overlooked the now-frozen lake.
“Hey, Alex!” he called out, starting to run that way. Alexander looked up from the fish that he’d been observing underneath the ice. He grinned widely as he spotted his boyfriend. “Jackie!”
He started to run towards John, and the two collided in a tight embrace, falling back onto the snowy ground.
John pulled Alexander into a kiss, and Alexander could hardly resist. It would feel like a crime to.
Eventually, they pulled apart, still grinning breathlessly. “I missed you.” John said. Alexander smiled down at him. “I missed you too.”
They stayed silent for a minute. John’s nose twitched as a snowflake landed on the tip of it. “Could you maybe…. y’know, get off of me? My head is gonna freeze off at this rate.” he joked.
Alexander quickly got to his feet, taking John’s hand and helping him up as well. “There. You wanna go on our walk now, then?” he asked. John nodded. “Sounds like a plan to me.”
They made their way through the snowy park, talking and laughing together, enjoying the snowy weather, arms entwined as the snow continued to fall. It may have been cold outside, but when they were with each other, they felt a warmth that was stronger than any fire.
