Look, I Didn't Want Parker Luck

Summary:

Peter's life was, in a word, insane. He would blamed it all on Parker Luck but that would unfair to his entire family so he blamed the gods, and no, he did not mean Thor or Loki or Odin or any of the Norse gods. No, Peter blamed the Greek gods, and the Roman but they are basically the same thing. He also blamed the Fates but honestly it was easier to blame the gods. The gods and fates did not like him, and they definitely did not like his friend Percy.

Or

Peter Parker is a demi-god but he doesn't tell the Avengers

Chapter Text

Peter's life was, in a word, insane. He would blamed it all on Parker Luck but that would be unfair to his entire family so he blamed the gods, and no, he did not mean Thor or Loki or Odin or any of the Norse gods. No, Peter blamed the Greek gods, and the Roman but they are basically the same thing. He also blamed the Fates but honestly it was easier to blame the gods. The gods and fates did not like him, and they definitely did not like his friend Percy.

When Peter was six his parents had died in a plane crash, he blamed Zeus for that. His uncle Ben and aunt May had to take him in. And then he found out that he was actually a demi-god, and he had to go to Camp Half-Blood every summer. He got claimed a year after arriving when he was seven by Athena, which really shouldn't have been a surprise. Later that summer a girl and boy arrived at camp and he gained yet another half sibling. The girl, Annabeth, and the boy, Luke, had made their way to camp while being chased by monsters with a satyr, Grover, and another demi-god, Thalia who was a daughter of Zeus. Thalia turned into a tree and that was not fun. He met his mother once, he had a lot of questions, he was grateful to find out that his dad did not cheat on his mother but Peter was a gift to the two scientists since they could not have kids of their own. Few years later came Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon and that led to four years of quests for Percy, Annabeth, Peter and Grover. Peter and Grover were the third wheel's of the group and it was not fun. Then there was a war. Then Percy disappeared and three demi-gods appeared. That was the start of the Prophecy of the eight. It definitely wasn't fun when his sister and his future brother-in-law fell into Tartarus and he had no idea if they would survive. And then there was another war, this one was a lot less crazy in that less people died compared to last time, and Leo, who did die, came back to life. And it's not like his life in the mortal world was all that calm either.

The craziest things to happen to him, in the mortal world, were usually during school trips where he always had to fight a monster or something and the mist hid it as something else. He also met another demi-god from camp in his first year at middle school, though him and Michelle didn't really interact a lot. He couldn't remember who her godly parent was but found out the next summer that she was a daughter of Aphrodite which really surprised him considering how un-…romantic(?) the girl was. He also gained a best friend that year, Ned. Other then the occasional monster it was usually normal until his first year of highschool where he went on a field trip to a research facility for a field trip and got bitten by a spider of all things! He was deathly afraid of the dam things because of his mother and of course he had to get super powers so now he was a super powered demi-god. Of course he had to become a super hero, he looked up to the Avengers and he had to take the chance to protect the mortals. The worst part about the spider bite though was definitely the argument he had with uncle Ben which lead to his death, it wasn't the first death Peter had witnessed, what with him being a demi-god, but it was definitely the worst.

When he went back that summer it took a lot of adjusting since his siblings kept freaking out over him but eventually they got over it. Of course Parker Luck wasn't on his side and aunt May died after the Vulture incident in a car crash because of a drunk driver. In the end Tony Stark who had become a prominent part of his life adopted him. He started living in the Avengers/Stark Tower. He hadn't really met any of the other Avengers since they were still not on the best terms even though it had been like three to four years. Well he had met Natasha Romanoff, Bruce Banner (when he'd come back from space) and James Rhodes and they had pretty quickly figured out he was Spider-Man but whatever. After Pepper and Tony got married she also officially adopted Peter so it was nice to have two parents again, technically three but he rarely ever saw Athena so that doesn't count. None of them knew about his other side but they knew he went to summer camp every year. Michelle and him became friends after the entire Vulture incident and she told him to call her MJ. She was the only person who knew about both sides of his life, though of course he also knew about both sides of hers. And he had to admit he sorta, kinda, definitely had a crush on her.

All in all, yeah, Peter's life was insane. And this is why MJ thought Peter was being extremely dramatic when he got the permission slip for the Academic Decathlon field trip to Stark Industries and said that that was the worst thing to happen to him. "At least you don't have dyslexia." MJ says. She had dyslexia like most demi-gods did and she still managed to ace all her classes, including english because of-fucking-course she overcame it. She still had trouble with english sometimes and preferred Ancient Greek but she was still amazing and Peter sometimes wondered how she wasn't the child of Athena. Though he was glad she wasn't because having a crush on his half-sister, even though gods didn't have DNA, would be really, extremely weird. "Stop being dramatic, Parker." She scoffs when Peter drops his head on the table with a thump. She was currently sketching him in her crisis sketchbook, which at this point was basically a 'Peter in crisis' sketchbook.

"This is going to be so fun!" Ned exclaims from Peter's other side and Peter lifts his head up only to let it drop back down. MJ snorts while Ned continues jumping in his chair, excitement evident in the boy even though he had visited the tower hundreds of times by now. He'd even slept over a few times. "I can't wait to see all the labs and stuff!" Said the boy who had seen Tony Stark and Bruce Banner's personal labs. "And the museums will be amazing!!" Said the boy who had met all of the Avengers. "Do you think we'll see any of them?" Said the boy who was best friends with an Avenger.

"Ned, dude, I love you, but please shut up." Peter groans from where his head had taken permanent residence on the table and Ned laughs. Peter's Spider-Sense went off and he forces himself not to move as Flash kicks his shin when he stops next to his table. "Flash. Flash's lackeys." Peter greets with out looking up. He knew the 'lackeys' names but it was funnier to annoy them.

"Ready to be exposed in a few weeks, Puny?" Flash asks, condescendingly. Peter still doesn't look up. "Look at me when I'm talking to you!" Flash snaps. Peter sighs heavily and looks up, Flash smirks like he's won. "Why so sad? You know you're lies are about to come crumbling down?" He pouts mockingly at the other boy who looks at him unimpressed.

Peter opens his mouth to retort but is cut off by Mr Harrington who's made his way up to the group without being noticed by Flash or his minions. "Mr Thompson." Flash and his henchmen jump and start stuttering. "Detention for a week, all three of you. Please leave." They rush out looking annoyed. Most everyone as left already. "Mr Parker, a word?" He turns to Peter and he looks up confused. MJ and Ned leave after reassuring him that they'll wait outside, or well, Ned does. "Mr Parker, about the field trip." Peter instantly stiffens, assuming that his teacher doesn't believe him about his internship just like Flash and a few other people in the school.

"Mr Harrington, I promise the internship is real!" He blurts before Mr Harrington can get too far. The teachers eyebrows furrow in confusion. "I swear I'm not lying!"

"I- Know?" Mr Harrington and Peter look at each other confused before the teacher seems to realise what Peter's talking about. "Peter, I don't believe Flash, I know better then most that you are smart enough to get a job at Stark Industries. And I have seen the documents you had filled out for extra credit, and I also know that you would never fake signatures." Peter relaxes and Mr Harrington gives him a sad smile.

"Then… What did you want to talk about?" Peter asks, more curious then worried now. Mr Harrington's smile turns wry.

"Ah, yes. Well you see, Peter. You have a habit of disappearing on field trips." Peter winces and Mr Harrington nods. "Yes, well, we can't afford you getting lost here. Especially since we are signing NDA's and you can't look at anything classified as you probably already know from signing similar documents for your internship." Peter nods and tries not to laugh, really there is nothing at SI that is classified for him. "So I need you to promise not to wander around."

"Ok, I promise I wont go anywhere with out your permission." Peter smiles at the teacher. "Sorry for doing that in other field trips, I didn't mean to worry you." Mr Harrington smiles.

"Good, and it's alright just… Please don't do it again." He looks tired now and Peter feels bad about making him worry. "Alright, you can go join your friends now."

"Bye Mr Harrington!" Peter smiles at his favourite teacher before leaving. When he step out of the gym he find Ned and MJ waiting for him. "Hey guys."

"What did Mr Harrington want?" Ned asks, ignoring the greeting.

"Just asked me not to run off again…" Ned laughs and MJ snorts, whether at the irony or the fact that that was what Mr Harrington wanted to say Peter doesn't know. "Anyways, lets go, Happy is probably waiting for me and you know how he gets." They all make their way over to the school exit, Ned excitedly talking about the field trip while MJ makes dry remarks about Ned already having been there and Peter just sulks. At the exit they split up, Peter going towards Happy's car, MJ towards the bus and Ned heading towards the subway. "Hey Happy." Peter greets Happy with a smile as he gets into the car, Happy grunts in reply. Peter pulls out his homework and gets started. It's an hour drive to the tower and that's enough for Peter to finish his homework, he insisted on finishing his homework in the car so he later had time to patrol as Spider-Man while also killing some monsters here and there.

About an hour later Happy pulls into the private underground parking of the tower and the two make their way over to the single elevator together. Happy stays quiet the entire time, while most people would probably take offence to his silence Peter, and basically everyone who actually knew Happy, knew that he just wasn't a very talkative person. Peter greets FRIDAY the AI and makes conversation with her as they make their way up. Happy gets off at the ground level where the security head quarters is, hidden behind the reception area. Peter makes his way all the way to the top where the penthouse floor is. The floor itself is split into two floors, with the bottom being the living room and kitchen (it was a big kitchen and an even bigger living room), the second floor held all the rooms, it was also where the Avengers had stayed before the split and where Bruce, Natasha and Rhodey still stayed when they visited.

When Peter arrives at the penthouse he's greeted by a bunch of noise coming from the living room, which is odd since only Tony, Pepper, Happy, Natasha, Bruce, Rhodey and he had access to the penthouse. Peter makes his way to the living room, the voices becoming clearer as he moves closer. He realises that the people are talking quietly and the only reason he can hear them is because of his super hearing. He has his web-shooters on, like he always does while in the mortal world, and his dagger in the form of a bypass ring, like he always does no matter where he is. When he reaches the living room he freezes, because he was not expecting who was sitting on the couches. Everyone stops talking and turns to Peter, all of them standing up and pulling out their weapons or getting into fighting stances. He forces himself not to react to his Spider-Sense because really these people weren't going to hurt him.

In front of him stood the Rouge Avengers.
