Summary
It used to seem impossible back then, the idea that he could actually live his life and just exist without the constant suffocating voice in his own head telling him he was sick and wrong. It used to be terrifying, the idea of being himself, of being so seen.
And the idea that this kind of happiness could ever belong to him, that he could ever deserve it, was just a big cruel joke that a universe he could never truly belong in was playing on him.
But he's here now, walking home, his hand tangled with Robert's and there's nothing scary or undeserving about it.
Now, it feels like the most natural thing in the world. Loving Robert is the most natural thing in the world.
