Meeting in the hotel room had become a sort of strange ritual for them, one that had never been clearly defined or given a name. This rule, or rather, the lack of one, meant that trying to make sense of it all and taking steps in any direction was becoming increasingly uncomfortable.
All the more so as Jake's heart began to guide his decisions, whilst his rational thoughts tried to keep him in check, insofar as that was still possible.
