In The Closet

Summary:

Cooper needs to tell Harry something important, somewhere private. For example, the storage closet in the back of the police station.

Work Text:

The day had not gone as smoothly as Harry hoped it would. The air was thick with tension, piles upon piles of miscellaneous paperwork scattered across his mahogany desk. It’s not like the man didn’t expect the workload, in fact he counted on it like clockwork.

So no, it was most certainly not the paperwork on his desk bothering him.

It was the fact that he hadn’t seen Cooper in nearly 11 hours. The day had unfortunately started early for the station, an alerting call regarding a possible body ringing in around 6:32am.

They had been searching in the pouring rain as it mixed terribly with the morning chill. It was a hike.

A hike that resulted in no body, just a couple of law men drenched from head-to-toe.

The ride back to the station wasn’t any better either. His truck’s poorly installed heater had finally decided today was its final day. Harry tried to make small talk, but, for the first time Cooper had no response.

It put Harry on edge. No rambling about the Douglas Firs, the beautiful scenery, not even a plea for a hot cup of coffee. It was unnerving to be met with silence from his ever-enthusiastic partner.

Eventually, the two had made it back to the station. With short quick steps Harry strode toward his office, grateful for the portable heater he keeps for especially cold days. As he glanced behind him to make a remark about it to Coop, he was gone.

And now he was here, sitting in his dimly lit office bouncing his leg anxiously awaiting his partner’s return. It wasn’t like the agent to leave unannounced, especially paired with his unusual behavior prior. (and ESPECIALLY for how long he’d be gone.) The paperwork could wait for another day. It’s hard to be Sheriff with such a preoccupied mind.

From outside the office door Harry could hear muffled voices, probably Lucy and Andy bantering again. He tried his best to drown it out, focusing on the task at hand: worrying.

For a few peaceful moments Harry admired the sliver of moonlight coming in through the blinds, the subtle hum of the nearby waterfall flooding his ears. The tall trees swayed in the breeze, hardly noticeable apart from their large silhouettes.

“Sheriff Truman?” Lucy’s voice rang through the quiet walls of the office, almost booming in comparison to the silence.

Harry nearly flew out of his seat, “Yes, Lucy?”

“Agent Cooper is waiting for- er… There’s an issue with a shelf in the storage room! You should take a look!…”

“Sure, I’ll go check it out for you.”

Weird, Harry mumbled to himself, pushing himself off of his chair. His knees popped, clearly he had been sitting for far too long. Lucy said something about Cooper waiting for…something, maybe he was waiting for Harry in the closet. Waiting patiently to get his hands on him- Or maybe he was hallucinating. Long nights tend to cause that.

Whatever it was seemed important.

As hastily as his legs would take him, Harry strode toward the back of the station, eyes locking in on the storage room door. His hand slightly trembled as he reached for the doorknob. There was no need to be anxious, just a broken shelf, right?

He couldn’t have been more wrong.

“Harry!” Cooper’s eyes widened at the sudden intrusion, his eyes tracking the door as it shut behind the Sheriff.

Harry couldn’t help the grin that crept onto his face, “Coop! Where d’ya run off to? Had me worryin’ up a storm today..”

Cooper smiled, a sad little thing. With a deep sigh he spoke, “Harry, I must be blunt. Forgive me for putting you in this terribly awkward situation.”

Within the small confines of the storage closet Cooper shuffled forward, his eyes darting across Harry’s face. The Sheriff swallowed, Coop’s eyes following the movement.

“What’re you talking ab-“

“Seeing you out in the rain makes me desperately aroused. I simply couldn’t focus around you in such a state, believe me I’m quite ashamed of myself. I know that personal issues should stay strictly out of the workplace, but it seems that I’m only human. I deeply apologize, Harry. If this jeopardizes our friendship I will completely understand, I’ve been a fool after all.” Cooper forced out, talking at an almost unnatural speed.

Harry blinked. His face flushed a deep red, all of the blood in his body immediately rushing south. “What?”

“I said-“

The Sheriff put his arm on Cooper’s shoulder. “You really mean that, Coop?” His eyes sparkled, a new sense of hope blooming in his chest.

“I don’t believe I would’ve sent Lucy to direct you here if it weren’t. Like I said, I’m terribly sorr-“

Harry placed his other hand on the agent’s shoulder, shaking him slightly. “Hey, don’t apologize to me.. I-…” He took a breath.

The world slowed down, the air inside the closet seemingly escaping in a matter of seconds. Cooper was warm, even through the fancy layers of clothes. He smelled briefly of firewood, earthy undertones swirling with the fresh aroma of coffee. It was now or never.

“I want you to kiss me.”

Now it was Cooper’s turn to blink in surprise. Without leaving room for hesitation, he surged forward, grabbing Harry by the lapels.

For weeks Harry had imagined how Cooper would kiss, sweet yet assertive. Gently guiding his tongue to trace his lover’s mouth.

No, Cooper kissed like he was starving. As soon as Harry melted into the kiss, he was crowded against the wall in a matter of seconds. Cooper bit, and licked, and sucked, causing a series of horribly embarrassing sounds to come from the Sheriff’s mouth.

Harry grabbed ahold of his partner’s impeccably gelled hair and tugged, gasping for air. Cooper groaned at the sensation before attaching himself to Harry’s neck. He gently nibbled at the sensitive area behind the older man’s ear, slipping his knee between open legs.

Harry moaned, cutting himself off by biting his lip. He squeezed his eyes shut as Cooper sucked his way down his throat. Logically, he knew the agent was courteous enough as to not leave any marks. But, God, did Harry pray that he would. Splotches of purple and red right below his collar, a place where only two sets of eyes would ever see. Their own little secret, their filthy…filthy secret.

The mere thought combined with the plethora of sensations Harry was currently being overwhelmed with pulled an almost guttural groan out of him. Cooper clearly took it as a cue to continue, which is most certainly was. He delicately shifted his knee, grinding into the wet spot on the Sheriff’s cargos.

Harry hooked a shaking finger under Cooper’s chin, directing his gaze upward. The agent reluctantly let go of his neck to look up into amber eyes.

The sight of FBI Agent Dale Cooper in such a debauched state nearly made his knees buckle. His typically perfect hair was far from what it once was, brows furrowed in sexual frustration, with a light sheen of sweat covering his flushed face. The first few buttons on his pristine white button-down were undone, revealing a sliver of a broad pale chest.

“Forgive me for being crude, Harry, but I would like to make you cum if you’re amenable.”

Harry was practically delirious with lust, gingerly rutting against his partner's leg. “God, Coop I think I’d let you get away with anything right now.”

Cooper looked at Harry through his long eyelashes, chewing the side of his cheek. “…Anything, Sheriff?…” His voice took on an intoxicatingly breathy tone, as his hands slowly descended toward Harry’s belt.

“Anything.” His voice was much huskier than normal, head absolutely reeling with pleasure.

Within a matter of seconds Cooper was on the floor kneeling in front of the Sheriff. With two swift movements he rolled up his sleeves, exposing his incredibly attractive forearms. Harry practically drooled at the sight.

His belt was gone with the blink of an eye, thrown off somewhere to the side. Cooper pressed his face into the older man’s cargos, inhaling deeply.

Harry ran his fingers through a mess of midnight-black hair, pulling on the ends. The sound that came from the man below him was borderline pornographic. “Like that, Coop?”

“Very much so, Harry.” He could feel the words’ vibrations against the tent in his pants, Cooper’s hot breath emanating warmth even through the fabric.

“Yeah…” Harry dazedly sighed, head lolling to the side in order to rest against the wall. He looked down with half-lidded eyes, a steady hand resting on Cooper’s head.

The agent smiled, lanky fingers slowly inching toward the zipper. Harry’s heartbeat spiked, his breathing growing heavy. Fingers crept into Harry’s plaid boxers until:

Knock, knock, knock.

Three short knocks on the door. Harry and Cooper froze, eyes rapidly widening and locking onto one another.

“Agent Cooper? Sheriff Truman?” It was Lucy, slightly muffled and not quite as loud, but it was Lucy.

“Have you made up yet?”

Harry softly chuckles under his breath, “More like made out…”

Cooper flushes impossibly darker, nudging his head against the older man’s hip. “We’re just fine, Lucy. I appreciate your assistance in the matter greatly.”

“Great! You guys sure are loud, maybe try the Great Northern next time. Or maybe the middle of the woods.”

It was a great coincidence that Harry’s cabin was in the middle of the woods, his closest neighbors miles away…
