Summary
Naim knows he's dreaming.
A silhouette breaks the surface, ripples fanning out in dark shadows around the figure. Naim blinks darkness from the fringes of his failing vision. It’s Ryan. He’s trying to say something, but Naim can’t decipher anything through the thick water. His hand reaches upwards, trying to meet Ryan’s outstretched fingers, but he never does.
“You shouldn’t be here, Naim,” Ryan’s voice is nothing like it had been in the waking world. Here, it’s venomous and wrong. It’s full of a hatred that breaks Naim’s heart. “You deserve this. I should’ve let you drown.”
