Summary
Ilya took a deep shaky breath and kissed Shane’s chest. “What if this stops?” He asked, barely above whisper.
“That won’t happen. I won’t let it.” Shane’s hand had stilled in Ilya’s hair and he resumed his combing.
“You can’t promise that. We don’t know how any of this works. We’ve been so lucky for so many years but it was always the secret. The questions. We don’t know what happens when the questions are answered. If it means losing this. Losing you then I don’t want to know.” He sounded gutted.
“I’m not going anywhere. And neither are you. Do you hear me?” He lightly tugged the silky curls to further get his point across.
“Okie.” Ilya said sadly and Shane’s determination hit a fever pitch.
“I won’t stop.” Shane replied matter-of-factly. “I won’t ever stop until I find a way to keep you.”Or- after a snap decision in Sochi, the next six years will test Shane's resolve, his bonds with family and friends and his career in ways Shane could never imagine. He goes so far outside his comfort zone that he doesn’t even know if he still has one.
