Work Text:

Shane and Ilya went to the Pikes' house to visit their new daughter, baby Amber, who was just three months old. During the trip, Shane ended up regressing due to the break in his routine—he and Ilya had planned to spend the week at the cottage to enjoy their vacation—but Ilya didn't seem too bothered; Shane always behaved himself when in Little space.

Except for today.

From the moment they arrived, Shane kept eyeing the crib set up in the baby's room and had already asked Ilya if he could lie down inside it. Ilya couldn't help but smile and explain that he was too big for the crib, and that it belonged to Amber.

But did Shane care? You bet he didn't.

He waited until the three adults were distracted and quietly walked over to the baby’s room, where she was sleeping peacefully in the crib Shane had so badly wanted to climb into. With the utmost care, he picked the baby up and placed her in the rocking chair so he could snuggle in the crib. However, just as he was about to swing his second leg over the safety rail, the door opened, revealing Hayden, Jackie, and a thoroughly displeased Ilya.

Shane was in trouble.

Before he could think of anything to say in his defense, Ilya grabbed him by the armpits and lifted him out of the crib, then dragged him along by the hand—ignoring his grumbling—while muttering that he’d be right back. Ilya took them to the guest room and locked the door, fixing Shane with a look of anger and disappointment.

“What did I tell you about getting into the crib, Shane? What were you thinking? You could have hurt the baby! What if she’d fallen out of the rocking chair?!”

Shane swallowed hard and stared at his shoes as guilt consumed him.

“You’re going to be punished for disobeying. Seven spanks for not listening to Papa.”

"NO!"

But protesting did no good. Ilya sat on the bed and laid Shane face-down across his knees, lowering his pants just enough to expose his bottom. Shane was crying and apologizing over and over, but Ilya paid him no mind. The caregiver placed a hand on Shane’s back and rubbed in circular motions to calm him.

“If you stay perfectly still, it won’t take long. It’s going to hurt, I know, but I’ll be right here beside you.”

Ilya waited a moment before delivering the first smack. It hurt—and how it hurt. And there were still six more to go! Shane cried out in pain and tried to place a hand over his buttock, which was burning from the force of the slap, but Ilya stopped him by holding his wrist.

“None of that. Face the consequences of your actions.”

...

“Last one now, Shane.”

Shane sobbed in response and shuddered as Ilya delivered the final smack. Somewhere between the third and fifth, Shane had an accident and ended up wetting his pants. Ilya picked him up and held him close, whispering soothing words and kissing his forehead.

“I know, I know, baby, I know it hurts. It’s over now; you’ll be right as rain…”

Still holding Shane, Ilya stood up and opened the door, asking if Hayden had any pants and underwear to lend Shane. Hayden nodded, and within seconds, he returned with a pair of underpants and sweatpants that were a bit loose on the Little; Ilya changed him quickly, planning to give him a bath once they got home. He planted one more kiss on his forehead before saying:

“Now, you’re going to apologize to Uncle Hayden and Aunt Jackie for getting into the crib and putting the baby in danger.”

“But I put her in the chair!”

Ilya silenced him with a look and opened the door for him to leave. Shane walked into the living room, one hand rubbing his bottom as he still felt the sting. He looked down, embarrassed.

“Apologize to them, Shane.”

“I’m sorry for taking Amber out of the crib… I'm sorry for trying to use the crib even when Papa told me not to go in...”

Jackie smiled sympathetically and walked over to Shane with her arms open for a hug, which Shane readily returned. She understood why Shane had done it and honestly couldn't help but feel sorry for those sad little eyes.

“It’s okay, my love. Amber is fine, you’re fine—there’s nothing to worry about.”

The ride home was somewhat quiet, broken only when Ilya complained about the traffic and Shane let out soft giggles at the funny way his Papa spoke.

“…Shanya, if you wanted a crib, you could have asked me. I don’t mind buying one for you. Heck, if you’d told me you wanted one, I would’ve bought it sooner.”

Shane lowered his head and stared at his hands in his lap. The truth was, Shane hadn’t known he wanted a crib either; when his eyes landed on Amber’s crib, something in his little mind screamed at him to get in there, and it just felt so right. Ilya noticed the Little’s silence and gently squeezed his hand.

“You don’t have to explain it to me right now. I just want you to know that you can ask me for anything, okay?”

“Okay, Papa… I love you.”

Ilya smiled.
