Despite it being an accident, Peter kept the Juicy Couture pants and black crop top.
He couldn’t help it! Not only could he not face his neighbor whom he stole the clothes from; but, the clothes were also incredibly comfy.
After his new spider mutations, his older clothes have been somewhat itchy, uncomfortable, or even scratchy on his skin as he became more sensitive and hype-aware.
The Juicy Couture pants were one of the few things he had that were comfy and weren't harsh on his skin, so he tended to wear them often. While the crop top wasn’t the same brand, it was also equally comfortable.
He had planned to give them back to his neighbor before he ended up in the hospital, however…
There was one problem…
She was quite thin and he was quite bulky.
Therefore, he had stretched out her clothes.
He felt terrible when he realized after he took them off. So one day, he decided to go to the Juicy Couture website to buy her a new pair and a new tank top–even if the original one wasn’t Juicy–and even maybe get a pair himself.
He figured it was a good way to apologize.
There was a second problem though…
“Holy shit,” Peter muttered to himself.
A pair of Juicy pants were a hundred dollars?!
That could get him by the whole month!
“Dammit…” he whined. He knew he didn’t have that kind of money whatsoever. He barely managed as is! Where would he get that kind of money?!
Suddenly, his phone rang. He looked to see who it was.
Yelena.
Peter smiled and answered the call. They talked for a bit about criminals and vigilante work until Peter suddenly had a lightbulb moment. He could vaguely recall Yelena wanting to piss off her manager or something.
“Hey, Yelena? Could I ask you for a favor that maybe–maybe not piss off your manager?”
“I’m really sorry about stealing your clothes from the laundry room. I did not know they were yours and I just grabbed the first set of clothes I saw. I uh…woke up outside without clothes so I snuck in through the window…” Peter rambled.
He was standing outside the woman's door. New set of Juicy Couture track pants and tank top in his hands as he explained his situation to the woman.
“So, as an apology, I uh– bought you new ones…again, I’m really sorry,” Peter stammered before handing out the pair of clothes.
The woman looked at him shocked.
“You…bought me a new set of Couture?” she said, shock evident in her voice.
“Yeah, I uhh, just got large and in the same colour as the previous pair,” Peter stuttered. He held his breath as the woman took the clothes from him and examined them.
“Thanks…the brand is pretty expensive so…thank you,” she says, grateful.
“Yeah. No problem,” Peter said before saying goodbye and turning to leave. She was about to close the door before something caught her eye.
He was wearing blue pants, blue Juicy Couture pants. She watched dumbfounded as he left to go upstairs.
So, Peter bought a new pair of Juicy pants, sue him. They were soft, comfy, and he enjoyed wearing them. It didn’t matter to him if they were more of ‘women's’ clothing or not.
Besides, Yelena gave him plenty of money to work with after explaining what he was using it for.
So who cares if he bought a couple pairs of pants in different colours. Or maybe a hoodie or two…or three…alright make it four. He also obviously couldn’t forget to get the tank tops.
So by the end of the week, Peter had a black Juicy tank top, three Juicy hoodies, one Sweetheart cotton hoodie, and several Juicy pants. All in different dark colours, however one of his pants was pink because he obviously had to get a pink pair. Come on, it’s Juicy Couture.
And he couldn’t wait to wear them.
Detective DeWolff was in a small coffee shop waiting for Spider-Man to arrive. She had called him to give him an update on a recent case regarding a crime ring involving illegal animal fights. So they decided to meet up to give each other information they know and where to go from there.
She was drinking her coffee when she heard the bell ring.
“Detective DeWolff! How have you been?” she heard Spider-Man ask her. She sat her coffee down and was about to reply until she finally looked at him.
He wasn’t in his full suit like she was expecting him to be in, and only had his mask on to hide his face. Instead, he was wearing a brown hoodie over a black tank top with ‘Juicy’ on the front and green pants.
“What are you wearing?” DeWolff questioned slowly. It wasn’t that she judged him for liking whatever he liked. She was just curious as to why he wasn’t wearing his suit.
“Sorry, you caught me at a bad time, I was repairing my suit,” Spider-Man chuckled before taking a seat at the small table. DeWolff just looked at him before huffing in disbelief and getting to work.
She noticed other patrons staring at them as they talked, others even taking pictures or ogling. She chuckled in her throat as they continued working. It wasn’t until they finished that she had to ask.
“So, you wear Couture?” She asked teasingly.
“Oh, well yeah I mean– it's a pretty comfy brand,” Spider-Man shrugged.
“No offense Spidey, but I thought you were broke,” She said.
“None taken, ‘cause you’re right. I couldn’t afford it, my uhh–-friend pretty much paid for these,” he chuckled nervously. He scratched the back of his neck.
“I also thought you were lonely,” she simply stated.
“Oh come on, I’m doing a little better! Tell you what, after this case is done, I’ll introduce you to said friend,” Spider-Man tells her.
“Alright, Spider-Man,” she agrees, taking a sip of her coffee.
She looked over to watch him leave, only to chuckle to herself as she saw the ‘Juicy’ imprint on the back of the pants he was wearing.
Peter was standing at his computer desk as he tried to investigate a couple of criminals. He was waiting for Frank to come with food as they decided to meet up every so often.
He was in the middle of looking up their history when he heard the door open to his apartment.
“Frank! Hey, I need your–”
“What the hell are you wearin’ kid,” Frank asked judgingly.
Peter turned to look at him questioningly before looking down at himself. He was wearing his Red Dahlia Sweetheart hoodie and a white shirt with his Juicy pants in the same red colour.
“What?’ Peter looked at him with a confused look. “My…Juicy Couture?”
“Since when in the hell did you wear Couture?!”
“Since I got some.”
“Lemme ask again, since when could you afford Couture?” Frank snarked at him.
Peter gave him a deadpan look.
“I like wearing it, okay? It’s one of the only things in my closet that I can wear without feeling scratchy since my new mutations,” Peter explained as they both sat down to eat.
“Whatever kid, you and your weird shticks,” Frank murmured as he opened the take-out containers.
They sat and ate in silence, occasionally talking about either patrols or mundane things.
…
“Seriously, how in the hell did you afford that crap?”
“Frank!”
Safe to say, Juicy Couture was his new favorite brand. Expensive? Yes. Also incredibly comfy and soft? Yes. He’ll be kissing the ground Yelena walks on for days on end.
After his meeting with DeWolff, it was well known that Spider-Man wore Juicy Couture. Not only were the people of New York non-judgmental and supportive. They were also making memes, fanart, and posting pictures of their clothing collections online with the thought that Spider-Man might see.
Spider-Man was already beloved by many New-Yorkers, but now he gained a huge female following because of his choice of clothing. Not that he wore it for popularity or even cared about his popularity, but it was rather nice to see people feel comfortable or feel seen, even if it was just a little bit.
But Spider-Man wearing Couture was a huge trend. So huge, in fact, that the Juicy Couture decided to make exclusive Spider-Man themed Juicy pants and hoodie!
And you bet he’ll be ordering those right away.
