“I'll… save you…”

“I love you”
CRACK
A world of magic.
A continent halved.
A kingdom of dragon.
A capital of grandeur.
A market place.
An Appa stall.
A frowning Appa salesman.
A strange boy from another world.
A mirror shattered.
“Huh?”
He stared intensely at the appa salesman, but his gaze wasn't focused on him, but on the cold.
The cold…
“Are you going to buy something or what?” The man asked him. He was hoping he could score another coin, but from the looks of it, this boy was just another strange noble, or maybe a tourist sightseeing.
The boy touched his left cheek, squeezing it, expecting the same coldness that felt far too familiar, but it didn't come. He was still warm, warm enough to prove he's still alive and standing.
But that wasn't right. If he was still alive, then why had he felt that cold before?
“What just happened?”
“Huh?” The boy snapped back to reality, finally focusing his eyes on the salesman.
“I-It's nothing!” He said cheerfully, trying to reassure him.
“Huh? What do you mean nothing? If you won't buy anything, then just leave!” Now the salesman was sure the boy was definitely just wasting his time. Whoever this kid was, the man had better things to do. For example, serving an actual buying customer.
“Huh?” The boy echoed back. “Didn't you just ask what happened?”
“Oh, my bad. That's me.” The new voice spoke once more.
“Huh?!” The boy looked back and forth, trying to find the source of the voice. “Who's talking?”
‘Does this kid have a problem?’ The salesman took back what he originally thought of the kid. Rather than just wasting time, it looked like the kid had a worm for a brain.
“It's me! The Heroic One!” the voice cheered.
“Heroic? Where?” The boy asked.
“Uuhh… in your head?”
“Huh? what are you talking about?”
“Kid, are you alright?” Now the man was worry; his stall would definitely take a hit in reputation if this boy stayed any longer.
“Like I'm in your head, I can see what you see and hear what you hear. I guess you could say I'm a voice in your head? I don't like the sound of it though, so just call me the Heroic One.” The voice smiled to himself.
“What?” The boy was confused, but only momentarily before he was struck with a revelation.
“Wait…” The boy stopped looking around, and closed his eyes deep in thought. “I was transported here, in a world full of magic. I met the heroine in an alleyway where she saved me, I helped her find an insignia, I…”
“Die, yeah, that's what happened. Still confuses me why we're back here, though. I'm pretty sure we're supposed to be in heaven or something.”
“I think I get it…”
“Really? What is it?”
The boy opened his eyes, his smile bright as his eyes were filled with the gleaming hope of heroism.
“This is my OP power!” He shouted aloud, causing the bystanders to look at him strangely.
A voice in his head? One that sounded exactly like him? If he was still in Japan, then maybe he would reconsider his decision to be a NEET. But in a world full of magic and a hidden, cloaked, beautiful damsel of elven heritage? This was practically his destiny! With the help of his truly heroic conscience, he would surely save his princess! And who knew? Maybe he could become the king of this land, with his fair and just maiden ruling alongside him.
“Uh, kid. Could you get out?” The salesman was angry with the boy disturbing his business, but if what he thought was true, then maybe the best approach to talk with someone having a worm for a brain was to softly shoo them away.
“Yeah! I'm a hero. No, I'm the hero. Wait, Wait, wait, We're the hero.” The Voice of the Hero spoke excitedly in his head, the cold of death becoming a mere afterthought.
“Hell yeah!” Now this is what he was talking about! They were the hero, and they would be the one who save the heroine!
“But we shouldn't waste time, the Princess is in trouble, I think it'll be better if we get to the loot house before her, see if we could talk to the thieves before… they are killed.”
“Yeah, what was that about?” The boy rubbed his chin in thought. Who was that assassin with the shameless clothes?
“About what?” The salesman asked, confused at the boy's sudden antic.
“I don't know, but whatever that woman's intention is, she's definitely up to not good. No more wasting time, let's go!”
“On it!” The boy moved his body sideways and took a stance.
Ready.
Set.
Go!
He ran with the elegance of a knight, charging into the sunset as he set off on a quest to save his Princess. Or at least, that's what he thought, since the first thing he did was crash into an old lady from another stall, quickly apologize, and resume running as the old lady screamed at him demanding payback for her ruined goods.
The salesman could only sigh in relief. Whatever problem that kid has, it wasn't his anymore. At times like these, he could only remember his daughter's smile to reassure himself that all of this shenanigans is worth it in the end.
“Wait, where is it again?”
“...Crap."
