    Detectives Castiel Novak and John Winchester were partners on the Boston police force for years. But Castiel was also harboring a secret love for John's oldest son, Dean. When John put two and two together, he vowed to kill Castiel on sight if he ever caught Cas and Dean together. To protect himself from John's wrath, Cas quit the BPD and never went near Dean again.
