Book 3, where do I begin? This book kind of had the same issues I had with book 2. There are some side stories that are introduced that never get brought up again. Two examples I can think of was what happened to Viola’s friend from school? Also, why was James in the Hunt? (I’m not a perfect reader so there is a chance that they are addressed and I just missed it )
Usually, these side stories wouldn’t be a super big deal except for that there really wasn’t anything else to focus on.
Another thing that was a bit lackluster was the emphasis on how immature viola was. Sure sometimes it was kind of like she was throwing a tantrum, but 85% of the time her feelings were valid. Most of the book revolved her being lonely, and James being a workaholic. And although I enjoy the world that these characters exist in, the fact that so far none of the three women work on any goals/dreams while being so incredibly lonely is a bit bland.
They all kind of start off mentioning dreams. Reba mentioned wanting to travel, Grace loves plants and works on her garden, but doesn’t do much with it, Viola started the book saying she wanted to do something to stop the omega hunts once and for all. But all they do is become lonely housewives
And I guess that is also is why this book didn’t hit as high as the other books in the series. It started off very strong with a couple that had desires to change the system who kinda just gave up on that dream immediately. Like they gave up on that dream so fast it felt like I was the one who made it up! 😂
