Summary
“Now that our work is done for the day, we may turn our attention to more pleasant matters,” Julien says, lowering his hungry gaze to Edward’s mouth. “Governor Torres has given me use of one of his guesthouses while I am in Havana. It is beyond the eastern courtyard, a small place, white shutters. You cannot miss it.”
“What are you—”
Julien’s gray-blue eyes, the color of stormwater over stone, lift slowly to meet his. “Come to me tonight,” he says. “I have waited too long to meet you, Duncan. I should very much like to discover whether you intend to make good on all those things you promised me in your letters.”
Stealing a dead man’s identity is simple enough for Edward Kenway. Inheriting his lover proves rather more complicated.
