In This Lifetime And All The Ones To Come | A Zelink story

Summary:

This story follows Zelda, the principal's daughter, as the main character and her romance with Link, a new student. We watch as their relationship grows and all the hiccups along the way, potentially involving other characters. Link is a a new student but exceptional. Excelling every class even when he joined mid-term. Zelda is the principal's daughter from a prestigious background and always has the weight of high expectations on her shoulder. She feels jealous toward link with how easy he makes everything seem. I might write one from Link's perspective if this is enjoyed!

Notes:

Hello everyone! Just a warning that this is in fact my first fan fiction that I have actually decided to post so there may be mistakes or things you may not like, just a warning! I hope you enjoy :))
Most of the zelda references here will be from breath of the wild dimply for ease but i may put other games as well
This all takes place in the same city. Revali moved from Rito Village to live closer to the school, Zelda lives close already, Link travels from Hateno, Zora's domain isn't far. This might not make much sense on the actual map but in this au let's say it is smaller so it can make sense for everyone to be together as this is a modern universe.
I am open for criticism and recommendations! But please do not be mean with it, please stay polite and kind since this is my first I am obviously not the greatest
this work is at the moment unfinished

Chapter 1: The beginning of a new day

Chapter Text

"Oh crap.." Zelda muttered as she pushed herself up from the hard, wooden floor. Using her bed as a form of balance, she heaved herself up and glanced up toward the clock on the wall opposite of her bed. 06:15 on the dot. Whlist letting out a sigh, she dragged herself toward her bathroom and began to get ready for the school day ahead.
After brushing her teeth, Zelda unbuttoned her night clothes and placed them on the rack beside the shower. The room was warm, steam blooming into the air around her as the water descended from the showerhead drumming a soft, rhythmic pattern against the porcelain floor, pooling around the drain. With a quiet smile, Zelda stepped into the steaming sanctuary, allowing the warmth of the mist to envelop her completely before the water even touched her skin, removing every last lingering chill of sleep that was still trapped within her. The water ran down her body in a quick yet gentle manner. Relaxation clouded her mind, allowing for her stiff shoulders to loosen and her thoughts to clear. Her blonde, luscious locks draped over her shoulders as her body, head to toe, was being caressed by the water cascading down from above. After an approximate 30 minutes of of being in her private sanctuary, Zelda turned off the switch for the water and reached for both her towel and fluffy, light pink robe. Softly, she dried herself off, wrapped her hair in the towel and proceeded to wear her robe then step out into her room. After spending ten minutes drying her hair, she walked down the stairs and into the kitchen to make herself breakfast. Ever since she was born, she always had someone to help with whatever she did whether it was her mother or someone her parents had hired. A few years earlier, this all changed. Her mother had unexpectedly passed away when Zelda was only six, a child. Once she turned 14, she no longer felt the need for anyone else to help her. She didn't need it nor want it. Urbosa was a beautiful, independent gerudo woman in her 30s-40s who was friends with young Zelda's mother. Ever since the tragedy, Urbosa has been as a mother figure for Zelda and has stayed by her side in the thick and thin. The girl had always been well off, or so people thought. She came from a wealthy, prestigious background and even attended the best school in all of Hyrule which her father happened to be the prinicpal of. Zelda hated this. She hated the constant expectation to be number one, the constant glares she would receive from other students who believe she only attends the school because her father is in charge. She only wanted to be a normal teenage girl. The girl fought back her tears, wondering why all of a sudden that all came back to her at once. She spread strawberry jam on her toast, something her mother would do for her every morning, and ate it while she headed back up the stairs. It seemed her father had already left the house. Months prior, when the school year had just begun, he would always driver her to school every morning. This resulted in glares and scoffs for the teenager so from then on she protested against her father to be able to take the bus simply so she wouldn't receive hate for the sole reason of being the principal's daughter. Suddenly, a memory came to mind. Hadn't her father told her that there would be a new student in her class today? The flame of curiosity suddenly sparked within her and blossomed into a roaring fire. Who was this person? Why would somsone join mid-term? How could they join mid-term? Usually, new students were rarely accepted mid-term due to high requirements necessary to become a student. If those requirements weren't evident, an exam was necessary. Hurriedly, she sprinted up the stairs, changed into her signature blue dress, styled her hair, swung her backpack over her shoulders and left the house.
