Nakhin pulls his phone from his pocket with shaking hands. He’s barely able to focus long enough to find his most recent contacts.
“Hello?” Ongsa’s voice is like a balm to his system.
“Ongsa.” He breathes.
“Nakhin? ...what’s wrong?”
He swallows and shakes himself.
“I need to ask you a favor. It’s a big ask, and I understand if you say no.”
“What is it?”
“Long story, but my rut got triggered early.” He hears Ongsa suck in a breath. “Would you be willing to spend it with me?”
