“Obviously,” Lola shrugs. “Besides, can you imagine how bored my boyfriend would get if I behaved all the time? Where’s the fun in that?”
“Bored?” Will echoes faintly. A strange buzzing has started up in his ears.
“Yeah,” Lola laughs. “I swear, when I act like I brat, it makes his day. Even if he pretends to hate it.” She pauses, taking a sip of her drink. “I mean, isn’t it the same with your boyfriend?”
Will’s stomach gives a funny little lurch. “Uh. Yeah. Yeah, I guess so.”
