That Time Morgan Brought Peter to School and the World Found Out

Summary:

"On Monday the 3rd of April, Tony Stark, Pepper Potts, Morgan Stark, and a mysterious teenager were seen walking into the young Stark’s elementary school. Sources reveal that it was family day at the school and students were encouraged to bring their siblings and parents.
We cannot ignore the visible similarities between Mr Stark and the boy. Same face shape, same eye color, hair color. Here at the Daily Bugle, we must conclude that the only logical explanation is that this boy is Tony Stark’s secret child."

Morgan's school arranges a family day. It doesn't end well.

Chapter Text

Morgan came home from school that day incredibly excited over something.

“Mommy, Daddy, you’ll come to school with me!”

She ran over to the kitchen island where her dad was standing with a cup of coffee and he released an ‘umph’ as Morgan ran into his leg, hugging as tight as she could. Behind him Pepper was standing in the kitchen taking a tub of ice cream out of the freezer.

“What do you mean, Morguna?” She asked as she stood up and frowned. Morgan released her dad to look up at her mother seriously.

“There’s family day at school. And you have to come.” Suddenly her eyes lit up. “And Petey too!”

Pepper and Tony shared a look over their excited daughter between them. A family day? There was no way that would end well.

“That sounds... exciting, sweetheart” Pepper looked at her daughter, forcing a smile. She didn’t want to dull Morgan’s excitement. But there was no way Peter would be able to come. Not if he wanted to keep his identity a secret at least. Already with Pepper and Tony there it would create a fuss.

Whose brilliant idea had it been to create a family day at a school where Tony Stark and Pepper Pott’s kid was going, they would never find out. (And maybe that was for the best) But none of them had the heart to dim the spark that lit up Morgan’s eyes whenever she talked about “getting to show Petey the school, and the library, and Miss Miller’s lab where they can talk science since Petey is really smart and so is Miss Miller”

When Morgan shared this specific want, Tony put a hand to his chest and looked pretend wounded. “I’m smart. I talk science stuff with Pete”

“No Daddy, not as smart as Miss Miller. She made a volcano erupt once! You just put wires together and look at screens all day”

So, when Peter came home a few hours later Morgan forgot all about the show that had been playing on the TV and rushed over to Peter, giving him the same strong hug as her dad had received.

“Peteyyyy!! I’m going to show you my school. And you’re going to love it!” She commanded. Peter looked up at Tony who was leaning on the kitchen island while sipping his coffee.

“Family day at school” He mouthed and Peter nodded slowly.

“That sounds great, Little Bug. When is this?”

“Monday. So, it is...” She trailed off counting on her fingers while muttering “...ten days away!” Peter smiled and mussed her hair.

“Monday is ten days away, good job. You’re going to be smarter than your dad soon” Peter looked up, smirking at Tony who held back a smile.

Tony loved seeing the kids interact like this. He had never thought it would be possible when Peter had blipped away but after they brought everyone back he and Morgan had been inseparable. They were like siblings.

Tony finally had his entire family together and he couldn’t keep from letting a smile bloom across his face as Morgan and Peter continued bantering lovingly between each together. His life was perfect and he had never been more grateful.

Suddenly his smile froze. No, he thought, it isn’t perfect. Stop that thought.

May had died in a car crash when she blipped back. He reminded himself that the only reason he got to have his ‘perfect life’ was because someone important to Peter had died. He refused to forget that little detail.

Peter had lost his last biological family member. And no matter how much Pepper and Tony treated him like their own they would never replace Peter’s parents, uncle, or aunt. And they didn’t want to.

But Tony did feel his heart crack whenever someone did anything that caused Peter to stare out into space, lost in his thoughts. Tony knew that in those moments Peter was remembering his family and grieving those he had lost. And all Tony could do was be there for him. This was not something he could fix and he hated it.

“Tony,” Peter’s voice pulled him out of his thoughts “Do you want to go down to the lab?” Tony’s lip quirked. He loved hearing Peter call him ‘Tony’. He had spent months trying to get the kid to call him by his first name and it was only recently that he started following that request.

“Yeah, let’s go” He put a hand on Peter’s shoulder and together they went to his lab to tinker on something together.

Ten days later the little family was getting ready in the morning. Pepper had called Midtown letting them know that Peter would be out of classes that day.

Morgan was wearing her usual school outfit with her backpack slung over her shoulders. They had had to get a little creative for Peter. It wouldn’t do to have the whole world know how close he was with the Starks.

Both Pepper and Tony had tried to get Peter to go to his own classes, but Morgan had been adamant she wanted Peter to come and they had relented. On the condition that he wear some sort of disguise to hide him from the paparazzi that was sure to follow them.

So, Peter was wearing a cap, sunglasses and a wig making him look blond. However, he refused to wear the wig the entire day. It was way too itchy.

He had managed to convince Pepper and Tony to let him take it off and just keep the cap and sunglasses after they entered the school. And then have all the teachers and parents sign NDAs to keep his identity a secret.

“This good?” Peter turned away from the mirror after adjusting the cap and wig to hide his face. He looked over at Pepper.

“You look great, sweetie” she said with a glint in her eyes and Peter scowled. He couldn’t wait to get to take off this scratchy wig.

“Okay, then everybody let’s get this show on the road shall we?” Tony clapped his hands together and they all filed toward the elevator.

Happy was waiting in a black SUV identical to the one he usually picked Peter up from school with.

As soon as they pulled out onto the street, Peter felt nerves invade his stomach. What if someone recognized him? He quickly double-checked in his head that none of his classmates had younger siblings that went to Morgan’s school. It would be a disaster to run into someone from Midtown.

Suddenly the car ride was over and they were moving toward the entrance. Peter kept his head low and his shoulders up around his ears. When he heard a camera click from his right he did his best to not look over. Right now, all they would be able to see was a cap, maybe some of the wig, and a black hoodie. That would change if he didn't keep looking at his feet.

As they walked in they were greeted by a banner reading: ‘Welcome to family day at Oak Park Elementary School!’ surrounded by a big smiling sun and flowers.

Morgan was holding her parents’ hands and guided them toward her classroom, trusting that Peter was following.

All chatter died down as the local billionaire and his family walked into their kids’ school. Everyone had of course known that they were coming seeing as they had practically been forced to sign NDAs to even be allowed to come, but it was still a shock. Usually, a grumpy man who scowled at everyone but Morgan, would drop her off and pick her up at school. Most parents had wondered at least once if Morgan even had present parents or if she was raised fully by nannies and caretakers.

However, all doubt was cleared when they saw how she and her parents interacted. Not to mention the mysterious teenager who trailed after them.

“Welcome, Mr Stark, Mrs Potts. I am Ms Willow; Morgan’s class teacher, and we have all been very excited to show you our school for family day!” Morgan’s teacher greeted them and it seemed to make all the parents realize that they should talk to and play with their kids again. (That’s what they were there to do after all)

“Please,” Pepper raised a hand, “don’t treat us any differently than you would anybody else. We’re just here to see whatever Morgan wants to show us, just like any other parent” She smiled warmly and Ms Willow returned the gesture.

“Well then, Morgan, why don’t you show them to your desk?”

Morgan smiled, leading them to a table in back of the room equipped with too many chairs, so they all had space to sit.

A few minutes later the day officially started and when Peter’s spidey-sense softened its tingling, telling him that the paparazzi were gone, he decided it was okay to remove the wig. None of the windows in the classroom faced outside the school, instead showing the courtyard, so there should be no risk of him getting caught by any outsiders.

When the students were told to show their families around the school, Morgan excitedly led Peter to the science classroom and introduced him to her science teacher Miss Miller, who according to Morgan was the smartest person in the world (She was really excited about the volcano, okay?!)

While they were there Peter felt his spidey-senses warn him of something. But when he looked behind him all he saw was a parent staring, no doubt trying to solve the mystery, so he brushed it off. He was probably just being paranoid.

All in all, the day passed relatively well, and they all had a good time. Throughout the day the stares had diminished as the shock of seeing Mr Stark, Mrs Potts, and the mystery teenager wore off.

Peter put the wig back on in the bathroom, making sure to check in the mirror if everything was hidden well enough. Then the four of them made their way back home to the tower, thinking that everything had turned out fine and they had had no reason to be worried. No one would find out about Peter.

The only thing they hadn’t considered was that the science classroom (where they had spent a considerable amount of time, seeing as it was Morgan’s favourite subject and teacher) was on the opposite side of the hall, meaning the windows faced outward.

They went home in blissful ignorance of the uproar they had caused and enjoyed their last evening before all hell broke loose.
