Monkey D. Luffy is nineteen, barefoot, and already halfway gone. Meth in his veins, voices in his head, and a smile that doesn’t reach his eyes anymore. The Straw Hats have tried to pull him back. The city has tried to swallow him. Neither has worked.
When Luffy walks straight into one of Law’s jobs and laughs at the gun pointed at his face, Law should finish it. Instead he takes the broken thing home to the clinic that doesn’t exist on any map.
