Chapter Text
Sleepovers with Yoko and Divina had been a tradition Enid was starting to neglect. Ever since Wednesday had become her roommate, the three of them hardly ever had nights free to do something like this: drinking, gossiping, and playing games. For Enid, that was a way to sneak out and break a rule or two.
Until that night,
Yoko's lips curled upward as she poured another glass of wine. It was her third. "I dare you to find out Wednesday's type."
An impossible task was assigned to her.
"What?! How am I supposed to find out Wednesday's type? This dare doesn't make sense," she growled, her eyes darting to the girl next to her. "Don't let her drink more, Divina! She ruins all the fun."
"Oh, come on, Enid," her smile grew as she watched her girlfriend's tipsy smirk widen. Perhaps something was already moving in her mind. "It's truth or dare, and since you don't want to do truth," she shrugged, "I mean, how hard can it be?"
"Bu–But it's Wednesday!" Enid tried to protest, mostly failing. "She's not even interested in romance."
"Let's spice things up then," Yoko shushed her, taking the lead of the conversation again, "If you manage to find out, I'll lend you my botanical science notes for the rest of the year."
"You!" Her voice echoed through Yoko's room. "You know I've been struggling with—Yoko, change the dare!"
"Say the truth then."
Enid huffed, crossing her arms, "I'm never having a sleepover with you guys again."
"You always say that," Divina countered, rolling her eyes, "and here we are."
"I'm off to bed," she scrambled out as she rushed to her sleeping bag. Whatever bet this was, she was going to nail it,
And avoid the truth.

The day went on for Enid with a mild hangover, as she bulldozed her way through the many, interminable classes of the day. It was now early evening, and Enid was on her bed, head down with her back resting on the mattress. Her eyes were on Wednesday, who was, as usual, engrossed in her writing, paying very little to no attention to her,
So, she began. "Boys," she sighed, "Tall boys, short boys, blonde boys?" She tried to keep it casual, to find the right buzzword that would make her shift or do something. Even if it seemed that none were working. Not until another deep, excruciatingly long sigh of hers,
Wednesday's fingers ceased their movement entirely. "Are you describing a potential next murder victim?" She then turned around, her eyes meeting hers.
Enid smiled as she jumped out of bed, walking slowly toward her. "Um, no? I was just thinking about boys."
"Shocker."
"Come on!" Enid's steps quickened, and she was now in front of her. "We never really talk about this stuff, do we?"
Wednesday kept staring at her, Enid bit her lower lip consciously. "So, I have a date soon, but he's so shy," oh Gods, what was she even saying, "and he asked me to bring a friend, and you know, do a quadruple date!"
"And you agreed to babysit him?"
Enid pouted. "He's just shy," the so–called imaginary date, "and I think it's cute, and I need your help!"
"No," she turned around once more, her back facing Enid, and it seemed as if she was about to start writing again,
Enid had to think fast. "If you help me, I swear I'll paint my room black for the rest of the year!"
Now that was tempting as Wednesday immediately turned around, but not quickly enough, because Enid had already managed to mask her regret quite well, having already decided that she was going to curse Yoko's generations for millennia,
"There will be no take–backs," she confirmed, her voice sharper than usual, Enid screaming loudly in her head.
"No," she wanted to cry, "I swear!"
"Mmm," there was a brief pause, perhaps for Wednesday to see if Enid had anything else to say, to protest. But nothing came, so she spoke once more, "With whom am I supposed to go?"
"Oh? Oh!" The long–awaited moment, this cursed dare of Yoko could finally end. "Tell me your type, and he'll bring a friend of his that matches your description, he said" did he really? "So," Enid's smile grew shortly after the blatant lie she had just told, "tell me about their personality, looks, everything, and don't skip the details."
And Enid could've sworn that Wednesday's cheeks had gotten slightly rosy. Was she blushing? "Is this truly necessary?" Wednesday asked, almost doubting her words.
"Yes!" The reply came too loud. Oops.
Wednesday lowered her eyes, and Enid couldn't hold back her claws from excitement. Was she really about to get those notes for free?
"Blonde, not that tall," her voice almost losing its cool. "Listens to what I say—"
"Like I do with you!" Enid interrupted, wagging her body back and forth. Wednesday's skin took on a few more shades; as pale as she was, it wasn't really that hard to miss.
"I must return to my writing," she added as she turned away from Enid.
"Wait! Do you like them older or younger?" But she had already started typing, therefore ignoring her once more.
Ugh! So much for not skipping the details. Enid breathed in, "Alrighty," then out. "Blonde, not that tall, listens to what you say!"

Enid furiously knocked on Yoko's door, a sickening smile on her lips. She had won the dare; the notes were basically hers,
"Yooooko," she kept knocking on the door, "Open the doooor!"
And suddenly, Yoko opened the door only to find Enid smiling creepily, eyes wide and alarmingly focused on hers. "I know Wednesday's type!"
"Oh?" Yoko grabbed her, pulling her in. "Spill it, now."
Why was she so interested anyway?
"Blonde, not that tall, and listens to what she says!" Enid said proudly, her fangs showing from excitement.
Yoko stood there for a few seconds, then started cackling, only to fully laugh shortly after. "I can't believe it!" The laughter grew. "Congrats, so you did make the Addams fall for you, just like we foresaw."
Everything went quiet, Enid's mind completely shut down. "What?"
