"It's only palliative until it's not," Will whispered, reluctantly opening his eyes to meet Alana's gaze. There was less concern than he had expected; instead, she seemed contemplative, her brow furrowed in concentration. "It doesn't change anything to deny reality. We both know that even this place is limited, that they'll move me into a different room eventually. One day it won't just be dropping bowls."
"But that day isn't today," Alana said stiffly, giving Will's bicep a squeeze.
