They couldn’t see much with only the warm glow of the streetlights to guide them, alongside their older brother’s warm paw, but the grass was soft below their feet. A small comfort. Noelle insisted on staying behind, the fawn still too sleepy to do anything. Either way, seeing her own shadow at this hour would scare her half to death.
“Ehehee… It’s gonna be really cool, Krismas. Just trust me,” Dess quickly says, looking over her shoulder at them. She’d been trying not to spill the surprise, though they’d heard murmurs and whispers of this place they’re heading to beyond closed doors between their brother and her. She looks forwards again to continue walking… until they find their way to the bunker, a door embedded into a hill with vines and rust slowly strangling it. It’d been around for years and years, maybe hundreds of years, long enough for kids to scrape up spooky stories about it to scare one another with at the playground behind the school.
Dess continues, grinning, though it’s quite hard to see, “I saw this ol’ code after rummaging around in my mum’s room. Azzy n’ I decided to poke around and type it in on shit til’ we found something that it could crack open. And turns out it goes to this. We explored it a bit, aaaaaand…!”
After poking around a lock in the door, they barely part, enough for a thick, inky dark smoke to claw its way out and float upwards slowly. Asriel looks worried, a look familiar to his face. “You still sure this is safe for Kris?” Kris is still trying to remember something… hasn't Dess been talking about running away from home? Would she go here?
“Yeah, we’d already looked through it the other night, dingus. Don’t be such a negative Nancy.”
"My name very much isn't Nancy," huffs Asriel, but he just groans and caves in, not wanting to put up a fight about this. The doors are pulled fully open by Dess, and the smoke floods out, almost hissing and whispering something. And she begins to walk in without hesitation. Still holding their hand, Asriel glances back at them for a moment before turning back towards the shelter, and together, they follow Dess as darkness surrounds them entirely. A little frightened, Kris moves closer to Asriel.
They slowly begin to see what's actually in front of them. It looks like some old hospital building that goes on forever. Like that horror thing they found online called the Backrooms or something. The lights are dim and it smells… odd. Looking down, they notice they've now got armor, like a 2 apples tall knight.
Dess, whipping around to look over them, grins and says, "oh, hey, lookit Krismas."
