Jesper looks back at him. Something sharp presses beneath his ribs. We went to school together. As if that’s all they were. As if Jesper doesn’t remember waking up with Wylan in his bed.
As if he doesn’t remember holding Wylan’s hand beneath the table during lessons.
As if he doesn’t remember the exact way Wylan had looked at him on their first day of sixth form and said, You cannot be serious.
Jesper had kissed him three months later.
