"you think i don't know that?!" in his frustration and stress, nicholas snaps at fuma. he regrets it immediately after, skirting out a quick apology, "...i'm sorry, hyung. i just—" he takes a deep breath, now face to face with the door of the apartment, "maki needs me. i've been taking care of him like how you take care of harua, or how k-hyung takes care of taki. he's... he's my pup. i need to be there for him."
silence follows his statement long enough that nicholas has to move his phone away from his ear to check if fuma hung up on him. after a minute, fuma just groans and relents, "alright. but don't blame me if something bad happens. i warned you, nichol."
at 19, maki's finally presenting, but pheromone dysregulation is making his first rut difficult. nicholas decides to help him despite the risks.
