It was another day at the task force, you and everyone else are trying to catch Kira. The work day is done and everyone are going back to their rooms while saying goodbye. As you were leaving though.
“Y/N, stay.” You turn around to see L in his usual siting position, him and his chair was facing you while L stares at you, having his thumb on his lips lost in thought. thinking about how he should ask such a personal question.
It has been a few moments so you ask “did you need something Ryuzaki?” L nods still trying to figure out what to say, he has one chance at this. He doesn’t want to mess it up.
“My apologies.” He finally speaks up “I am about to ask you a very personal question but I’m trying to calculate the best way to ask you without getting offended or freaking out.”
You gulp out of nervousness, what possibly could he be ask-
“Do you like boys?” L says bluntly on the outside but internally he’s freaking out.
Your eyes widen, that really is a personal question. What do you say? Do you tell the truth? Why would he even ask that? Is he planing to get the answer and out you or fire you? Your heart was pounding, you were sweating and blushing.
He hums. Analyzing your reaction “interesting.. that raises the percentage to a 80 percent. I might actually have a chance here.” He mumbles to himself.
Could it be that he likes you? You thought to yourself. You managed to calm down and smile, you really had a crush on him for a while now.
You gained the confidence to answer honestly “yes, yes I do!”
He smiled, the smile that you loved to bits. “Good to know” he pauses, staring into your eyes. “Well that’s it, you can leave me now.” You were not satisfied with that however.
“Wait. Why did you ask me that?” You questioned L. You think you knew the answer but you wanted to be sure, you hated making assumptions.
L looking down at the grown chewing his thumb out of nervousness, he hated being vulnerable like this. His face was slightly pink.
“Well.” L starts, trying to piece the words together “I simply wanted to see if you wanted to go out with me.” He said it so calmly yet you could tell he was nervous.
So you were right. The L. The detective L fell in love with you. Obviously you were going to say yes.
“I accept your offer!” You said with a smile, L smiles, still looking at the ground. “It appears I have gained a boyfriend.”
