   Summary

   Carl thought the worst thing he could lose in the dungeon was his life—until he fell in love with the one man who was never supposed to stay. A drunken mistake, a fractured bond, a painful betrayal, and one final bargain leave Carl and Mordecai on opposite sides of the Syndicate, each believing the other is better off without him.
