Chapter Text
Dunk walked through the airport terminal, letting out a sigh so deep it practically shook the floorboards. In his hand, his phone was throwing an absolute tantrum. Buzz. Buzz. Buzz. It rang once, twice, three times, each ring a reminder of the corporate nightmare he was leaving behind. With a dramatic roll of his eyes, Dunk held the power button down and forced the phone into a permanent nap. Goodbye, problems.
"Dunk....!!!"
Dunk looked up. Standing in the agonizingly slow check-in queue was his best friend, Est, waving his arms like a stranded sailor signaling for help. Dunk actually smiled—a real one, for once—and waved back.
A few minutes later, Est snatched his plane tickets from the counter with the triumph of a man who just won the lottery. He jogged over, but stopped when he noticed Dunk staring completely blankly into space. Well, not space. Dunk was staring directly at a very confused stranger.
Est nudged him hard in the ribs. "Bro, you are aggressively staring at that man."
Dunk blinked, snapping out of his trance. "Oh, fuck..." he muttered. In a panic of pure awkwardness, Dunk stood up and accidentally bowed to the stranger like he was addressing royalty. Great. Excellent. Maximum embarrassment achieved.
"Smooth," Est snickered.
They immediately turned on their heels and marched toward the security gates, chuckling like two villains who just pulled off a heist.
"You do realize we are one hundred percent getting fired for this, right?" Est said. As if on cue, Est's own pocket began to vibrate violently. He looked down at it like it was a live grenade. "Should I answer?"
"If you answer that, I am throwing your phone in the airport toilet," Dunk threatened peacefully. "I am ignoring everyone. I don't care if we get fired. At least we will be unemployed in peace."
Est nodded solemnly, slipping the vibrating phone deeper into his pocket. "You make a very convincing argument. Poverty over paperwork. Let's do it."
They finally boarded the plane and sank into their economy seats like they were plush thrones. They looked out the window at the tarmac, the engines roaring to life, signaling their sweet, sweet freedom.
"Let's just ignore the chaos and cheer, babeeee!" Dunk laughed, throwing his hands in the air.
Sure, his boss was probably throwing a chair across the office right now. Sure, their workplace was an absolute, literal hellhole. But right now? They had snacks, they had window seats, and they were flying far, far away. The scolding could wait.

Archen—though most people just called him Joong—adjusted his collar in the mirror behind the bar. He was handsome, and he knew it. Honestly, could anyone really blame him for flaunting it? Absolutely not. Not even his best friend, Pond, who was currently watching him with an exasperated look that said, 'Please stop.'
"Joong, you seriously need to stop flirting with literally everyone who breathes," Pond said, leaning against the counter. "Your mother wouldn't be very proud of you right now, my dear."
Joong rolled his eyes, giving his hair a quick, effortless toss. "I'm not flirting, Pond. I am simply sharing my handsomeness with the world as a public service."
Pond shrugged, completely unimpressed. "Right. A public service that is currently holding up the drink queue."
Before Joong could defend his charitable acts, William—the bar's youngest runner—burst back behind the counter, holding a stack of order tickets.
"Damn, the 'Cherry Bite' is high on demand tonight!" William said with a wide smirk, waving the tickets in the air.
A massive grin spread across Joong's face. The Cherry Bite. That was his absolute signature drink—his pride and joy. He crafted it with pure passion, using a unique, top-secret blend of tart cherry, rich red velvet liqueur, fresh beetroot extract for that deep crimson color, and a perfectly whipped, velvety foam on top. It looked like a potion and tasted like heaven.
Being "high on demand" meant only one thing: the crowd wanted a show. They wanted him to step up to the main cocktail-making podium, where the spotlight would hit him as he did his flashy bottle-spinning and pouring routines.
Joong chuckled, the competitive spark lighting up in his eyes. "Willy, take these completed drinks out to the tables. Pond, handle the registers and keep the peace. It's showtime."
With a confident grin, Joong grabbed the stack of new order slips to see what he was dealing with. He flipped through them.
Twenty-two Cherry Bites.
He paused, his grin faltering for a fraction of a second. Twenty-two? In one go? That was slightly concerning for his wrist joints, but hey—wholly acceptable for a star.
"Pond," Joong muttered, grabbing his shaker. "Tell the DJ to turn up the music. Your boy is about to put on a masterclass."
