"Kim Seungmin"
"Honey, wake up"
Seungmin startles in his sleep, opening his eyes when he realizes that his wife's voice is coming from the real world and not his dream. The first thing he sees when his vision adapts to the darkness is Minho sitting on their bed.
"Do you need anything?" He asks with a half-awake voice as he turns on the lamp on the nightstand so see the situation clearer. He is still struggling with his sleepiness but once he looks at his wife again and sees her looking upset, everything in his head becomes less of a priority. He quickly sits right up, reads the room, observing her from head to toe out of worries.
"Babe, what's wrong?" He asks when he can't figure it out. He knows something is wrong just by her facial expression. She looks tired and sleepy. His obvious assumption must be pregnancy insomnia, something Minho has been experiencing since the last trimester started. But usually, Minho would just have a drink, making herself busy until she gets to fall asleep. So, today must be something more than just insomnia.
"What makes you uncomfortable?" Seungmin asks straight away, immediately holds both of her hands as a reassurance, but Minho pulls her hands away. Apparently, even a little touch discomforts her, so Seungmin decides to be more careful with his action and just wait for Minho to speak. She looks like she is on the verge of tears.
"Heartburn" She whispers as she rubs her palm somewhere on her chest. She looks stressed, she wants to speak up but the thought of it is enough to make her want to cry. "It's too hot. Dango keeps moving. I can't sleep. Everything is too much"
"It's okay, baby, it's okay" Seungmin immediately coos when her voice begins to shake and he takes Minho's hands again to move them away because she starts to clench on her collar. His soft reassurance doesn't give much of an effect on her. In fact, she gets even more in distress.
"It's not okay, you have work tomorrow" she whines, voice cracks like it is a sign that she will break down at any moment. Seungmin coos her softly again, not giving up.
"Shhh~ You're not bothering my rest, alright? You're not a burden" he convinces, kissing her hands fondly and uses his thumbs to caressed the back of her palms. He is pretty sure his words still don't work on her stressed mind, but at least she is quieter now.
"Do you need your med? Or water?" Seungmin tries to assist while trying to make eye contact because he realises that Minho is avoiding him. Minho looks to the side when Seungmin leans down to see her eyes, and she shakes her head slightly. From the dimmed light, Seungmin is positive that his wife's eyes are teary. It doesn't help his worries at all.
"Can I hug you? Or will that make you feel hotter?" He gives an attempt again, but this time, he uses a question that needs Minho to answer verbally. He sees her biting her lower lips to stop it from quivering, and he feels her hands holding onto his tightly.
"It will make me feel hotter..." She whispers, voice trembling between her breath. Seungmin heaves a soft sigh, relief that she still wants him to assist her in this situation.
"Okay, then I won't-" he is about to take his hands off because he doesn't even want her palms to be hotter because of him, but then he freezes when he feels Minho grabs onto his hands tighter, not allowing him to pull away. Seungmin looks at Minho's expression because now she is looking at him, and he notices how her tears are now falling to her cheeks, her breaths are shorter like sobs. His heart breaks, his mind runs faster than before to come up with a solution that can make her stop from feeling upset.
She feels hot all over but she doesn't want him away.
"Ah, I'll turn the temperature way lower, then I cuddle you so you won't get too cold. Is that okay?" Seungmin speaks up right after he gets an idea. Minho's body language shows how she feels calm after she hears that, and she nods lightly as an answer.
Seungmin smiles, he gives her a forehead kiss first before slowly pulling his right hand away from her grasp. He quickly reaches for the air conditioner's remote and changes the temperature to make the room colder. Then he helps Minho get comfortable in his arms when they lie down together. Since Minho is lying on his upper arm, he reaches for her pillow to place it behind her back as a back and hip support. Then, his body is facing the ceiling while Minho is lying on her side, facing him, and he makes sure the baby bump is leaning towards the side and slightly on top of his body as a support. The position makes the baby bump feel so much lighter, and Minho heaves a relief sigh right away.
"You're fine, baby. Don't cry" Seungmin coos, wiping away the stain on her cheeks now that she is no longer shed a tear. Minho is no longer overwhelmed, so she starts to get sleepy again.
"I'm retiring. You're gonna get pregnant for our third baby" she mumbles, and smiles slightly when she hears a chuckle from her husband.
"The experiment for it is going really well in other country, actually. I can volunteer to be their test subject" he responds. Minho fixes her position slightly to be more comfortable, and she closes her eyes.
"Hmm. You better be" she replies softly. Seungmin observes everything, and lord knows how relieved he feels when he is watching as she gets so comfortable cuddling him to sleep. It's good that she is no longer stressed. The relief makes Seungmin decide to stare at her longer, watching her calm expression until suddenly she opens her eyes again, reciprocating his eye contact like she has a news to tell him.
"What is it?" He asks, getting ready just in case she gets in distress again. But luckily, all she does is chuckling softly as she answers
"Dango headbutt my bladder"
Two seconds to process, and Seungmin laughs at the statement. When he sees her slowly get up, he quickly helps her and he gets off the bed as well.
"I'll go with you. I need to use the bathroom too" he gives an excuse, and they walk hand in hand while jokingly blaming Dango for making them go to the bathroom at 3AM.

Bonus:
Yongbok observed the odd looking pillow that her father just bought. It was the pregnancy pillow but she didn't get to ask Seungmin about it yet, so now she was just staring at one odd pillow.
Hmm...it kinda looked like a counter, Yongbok thought.
10 minutes later, all the plushies and dolls were sitting around the pillow while Yongbok sat in the middle, there were toys like fake breads, tea cups, teapot, and even a plate of vegetables on the pillow. The pregnancy pillow was officially her restaurant's bar area.
"And that's why you don't use the pregnancy pillow?" Hyunjin asks the obvious after Minho explains to her the next day, when both of them are talking at the dining table. Minho wastes no time to nod solemnly.
"Look at how she set the whole place up, how can I ask her to break them down?" She defends herself while pointing at the living room comically with two hands. Hyunjin has to see the sight first. Minho is right. Yongbok does so well in turning the pillow into a little restaurant's counter where she plays with Chan at the moment. Hyunjin sighs, she has to acknowledge that she would do the same if she is in Minho's spot too.
"Plus, I have Kim Seungmin. Why would I sleep in peace when I have a chance to bother his sleep?" Minho adds shamelessly. Hyunjin can't help but chuckle at her words as she looks back at her.
"That definitely sounds like something you would do" she agrees and Minho nods as if she says 'exactly'. Sometimes, she is just glad that people think her mischievousness around Seungmin is her default behavior whenever he is around, because that means they will never know her vulnerable side, and that side is only visible for Seungmin to see and love.
