“I was wondering, uh…I mean, no pressure or anything. You don’t have to, if you don’t want to. But I wanted to ask if maybe you’d come stay with me for the summer?”
Leo paused, taking a second to process Percy’s question. He wasn’t sure what Percy meant by that. “...Stay with you?”
“Yeah,” Percy replied, confirming that Leo wasn’t just hearing things. “I know this is your last summer at Camp, so if you’d rather spend it there, that’s cool. I just…” Percy hesitated. He seemed like he was trying to act nonchalant, but that anxiety was still bleeding into his voice. “It’s been weird without you.”
“Usually I’m told it’s weird with me,” Leo quipped, cracking a joke so Percy hopefully wouldn’t see the blush spreading across his face.
Percy smiled a little. “That too,” he teased. “But that’s…the good kind of weird.”
Leo's had a rough year, and Percy invites Leo to stay with him in Manhattan for the summer to take his mind off everything.
