Summary
The morrow after King Viserys's death, it was announced that Princess Rhaenyra, Princess of Dragonstone, was the true heir to the throne, and she was crowned before the court with little resistance from the Queen Dowager's side.
Before his death, the King had made it abundantly clear that Princess Rhaenyra would inherit her birthright, especially after Queen Alicent's firstborn son, whom many had rumored would take the crown from the princess, turned out to be an Omega upon his manifestation.
Many who had once wished to support the prince's claim to the throne soon withdrew their support. It was hardly a surprised by how it had turned out. The only reason the court had pushed so fiercely for the King to take another wife was because they could not stomach the thought of a woman upon the throne. Yet it seemed their hatred of an Omega upon the throne ran even deeper than their hatred of a woman.
