"I believe in you" are the last words he says before the few nods that result in blowing up the ship.
They both sink to the ground. Well Hummer, as a guy with a heavy tv instead of his head, is the one to sink — he has to hold Wifies so his body wouldn't float to the surface.
Hummer feels the tech inside him slowly fill up with water a bit before he sees a flash of panic on Wifies' face.
And that's when he realises the worst thing in this situation. Wifies is a human — he physically can't drown by himself.
The other times when they were supposed to drown, Wifies and his instincts got them out of the situation. On the Hummer's ship he barely made it out alive by swimming to the surface last second. At the museum the potion left in his inventory brought back Hummer from near death when Wifies dragged him to the shore last second. That's why it didn't work — they have never actually died.
But that means Hummer will have to drown him.
Hummer's head gets fuzzy and he knows there's not much time left for him. The water probably have already damaged some important wire or mechanism or something in his glowing head.
Glowing.
And it's either the too much water in his stupid head or the glowing makes Wifies look absolutely gorgeous. His eyes reflect the glow like they're shining. The features of his face are highlighted with different colours of the screen. He's looking at Hummer like he is his last hope.
Or are his eyes like that from the water around him and there is nothing beautiful? Or are they filled with fear about his impending death and there is certainly nothing beautiful about that?
Hummer's head feels like it's going to split and the oh so beautiful eyes widen suddenly and oh god they're about to die soon.
His grip on Wifies' arms tightens. Wifies starts shaking his head side to side holding onto him desperately with knuckles on his hands turning white.
Hummer nearly slams his head in half with the intent of bumping them and Wifies looks at him again with those eyes and- Hummer there's too much water in your "brain".
He then forces Wifies into a hug. Holds him closely and feels how he grasps desperately on his shirt. Feels how his muscles start to twitch. Holds his head which tries to tilt back to get just a tiny bit of air.
Wifies' hands let go of the shirt to frantically flail around in an attempt to stay alive. Hummer can't help but be sad about the loss of touch.
He knows there's probably a few cracks on his body with how intense Wifies is throwing himself around. He knows because he feels water getting inside him much faster and he really has no time but he has to hold Wifies 'cause then it wouldn't work.
God this is awful.
Hummer focuses his last strength to keep Wifies underwater. He holds him out of everything he has left and it's getting so hard but he has to do it.
He is killing him but he has to do it.
Because it wouldn't work any other way.
They have to see the Leviathan.
Wifies has to see the Leviathan.
Wifies' limbs suddenly calm down. Did he die? Oh God did he die? It didn't work? Wifies seems too quiet and he doesn't move and there's bubbles going out of his mouth.
And there's no strength in Hummer to still try to be alive.
Maybe there was no point in doing this and he died 'cuz of some stupid mythologic creature that doesn't actually exist!
Hummer realises he can't really move his limbs anymore. Doesn't have the strength to.
But he thinks that it's a death he's okay with. He can be okay with dying with Wifies in his hands.
Although he can't be okay with killing the guy right before. He could've had a beautiful life. A beautiful wife? Kids?
Hummer doesn't even feel the impending doom anymore. His vision simply gets blurry and he sinks completely to the ground.
And he doesn't feel Wifies laying on him either. But that's okay. They're both okay now.
And he wants to say they will meet in heaven but murderers don't get there, do they?
...
Wifies suddenly can breathe underwater.
He looks around to see if Hummer is okay too.
But the TV now displays a message about "too much water" and "get rid of it before it's too late!".
Then before he can actually do anything it shuts down completely.
It's really hard to see without the glowing head but now he aches to be blind.
As he watches Hummer's body disappear.
