Hello there! I'm so honoured to be able to contribute to this fandom. This is my first fanfic of a pre-existing piece of media so fingers crossed y'all.

Work Text:

The day was sunny, just like DJ wished it would be. There was nothing better than the weather reflecting your mood after all.

DJ was as happy as he could be. Just the previous day he had confessed to Superfish. He had been extremely anxious about how to go about it for the last couple weeks only to find out that Superfish shared the same feelings. The two were officially a couple now.

Today, Superfish would be coming over to DJ's place. It was a date of sorts and DJ had prepared snacks and a movie for them to watch. It definitely helped that Arun wouldn't be back until the next morning, even though DJ was sorry for his brother and his inhumane work schedule.

Now, he just had to wait. Superfish was supposed to arrive in an hour and DJ didn't know what to do with himself. Maybe he should clean the house for the third time? No DJ! Superfish has been here multiple times before, what are you so anxious about?

But this time was different. They were dating now, as unreal as it sounded.

Finally, the doorbell rang and DJ bolted to the door. There stood a grinning Superfish, with his yellow vespa parked just behind him. Taking long strides, he entered the house.

Something DJ definitely wouldn't be able to tell by Superfish's demeanor was that he was anxious too. Superfish had never experienced genuine affection before so being confessed to, by the person he had feelings for nonetheless, had thrown him off for a bit.

His train of thought was immediately cut off by a familiar little friend coming to greet him. Aloo rubbed herself against Superfish's legs as he squatted down and petted her happily.

“She really does like you.” DJ commented.

“Not just her I'm sure.” Answered Superfish, turning around and looking at DJ. “Well, I can't blame you. It is I, the amazing Superfish after all.” He dramatically stated as DJ rolled his eyes in annoyance. But he couldn't deny anything that was said. He did fall for that annoying brat.

“Come on now, let's go sit. But you need to change first. You don't expect to stay in that suit, do you?”

Indeed, Superfish was wearing his usual suit. Did he really not own any different clothes?

“Oh, you're right.” Admitted the teal-haired boy. He was so used to this specific outfit that he didn't think about whether it was appropriate at the time or not.

DJ sighed with a smile. “Well, good thing I left a pair of clothes in the bathroom just in case. Go on fish boy.” DJ pushed Superfish towards the bathroom door.

After Superfish was done changing into a pair of comfortable sweats and a loose shirt, the boys sat on the couch together.

The movie DJ had chosen for them to watch was ‘Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring’. Superfish probably hadn't watched any human movies before and you could never go wrong with a classic, right?

They spend the next 3 hours watching the movie while munching on chips and with the occasional comment from Superfish about “Humans’ interesting depiction of magical beings” delivered quite sarcastically.

They ended up enjoying themselves very much nonetheless. However, there was one thing looming in between them. Namely, their new and unexplored relationship.

Eventually, when the credits rolled, DJ turned to look at the boy beside him. His boyfriend. “Gosh, he looks so handsome.” DJ thought involuntarily.

As if sensing the other's eyes on him, Superfish looked right back at DJ with a questioning look. “Admiring my gorgeous side profile, are we?” He teased.

DJ's cheeks turned red as he tried to avert his gaze. Superfish, however, was quick to reach out with his right hand, cupping the other boy's face.

Slowly, he leaned closer, as if asking for permission. Eventually the distance between them shrunk, until their lips were touching in a soft kiss. The kiss lasted just a couple seconds before Superfish pulled away.

“Ugh… I'm not exactly the most knowledgeable person when it comes to… affection. I know we said that we are dating yesterday but… I'm not exactly sure what that means.”

“Let me teach you then.” DJ answered, taking Superfish's free hand into his. “I'll show you everything I can. I'll guide you through some things but I do not know everything either. I don't know as much as I'd wish about you. I realise that you grew up in a world I'll never understand but, I swear, I'll try my hardest to understand you. We can learn together as we go, alright?”

Tears pricked Superfish's eyes. This level of affection, of devotion, he had never experienced it before. It made him want to break down and cry, right then and there. He wasn't going to though. The only thing he managed was a quiet “Alright.”

With that, DJ moved his hand to Superfish's neck, kissing him fervently. It felt… amazing. Like fireworks going off in his heart. Superfish also grabbed onto DJ, clinging to him for dear life.

Soon, their kisses turned deeper, more passionate. They were fully making out on the couch.

Superfish's heart was pounding. He had never thought that something could make him feel so happy in this world. He wanted more. So much more.

He gently pushed back DJ, climbing on top of him. Kissing his jaw, Superfish traced the other boy's face with his lips. He then moved onto DJ's neck, letting out soft, content sighs.

“Superfish.” DJ nudged the teal-haired boy's face up, looking into his golden eyes. “I'm very glad that I found the guts to finally confess to you.”

“I'm glad too.” Superfish nuzzled against the tan boy's hand. “So glad.”

The next morning, the front door opened as Arun dragged himself into the house. Before he went to bed though, he wanted to greet his brother.

He didn't have to look far. As Arun approached the living room couch, he saw two boys sleeping together peacefully. Their faces glowed as they smiled in their sleep.

Let's just say, I was too tired to think straight when I came in. Arun shook his head as he climbed the stairs to his room.
